about the black screen bug...
there's this here that solve the issues in vanilla cells.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11167
I tried setting the Fog Near distance at 0.001 for the Blood Pit (my latest interior cell) like he did in this fix. It WORK! I can now stroll in the Blood Pit and no black screen at all.
I went to Red Dog camp, but I didn't had the black screen there. It's unusual as for exterior cells there are no Fog Near Distance, it become grayed-out. So that one I don't know what to do.
I will need to fix this for any new interior cell I created I guess.

Umm, OK, I'll be the one to ask as I hide behind my screen...
I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned it but:
Will you allow conversions of the armour for other female body types? I, and many, many others use HGEC. I use the EBE (Extra Buff Edition) and to me they look very natural as well. No inflated assets, but more fighter style.
I know some of the other options are very different though, but the base HGEC is very good. Otherwise, I'll live with it and not use the armour, I guess.
Re the black screen issue. Wyre Bash can also fix the fog issue which is a big cause of black screens. I haven't had any issues with them in WAC yet and I have an Nvidia card.

Can you elaborate a little on how wrye bash can be used to fix the exterior black screen issue?
Thank you
When you rebuild it, in the "Tweak Assorted" subpart, you have a "Nvivdia Fog Fix" option. It's what will fix the black screen bug. I too have a nVidia card and it's been a very long time since I had a black screen bug.
The Bashed patch is not just to use FCOM. It's also very useful to spare some mod slots as it contains a lot of tweaks and settings.

I've played the game with WAC installed for a couple of days now. I'm really impressed - the druids, the gnoll camps, the roadrunners, terror birds and the armless were probably what I liked most about it so far. :>
Something I didn't like as much were the giants. I met one on the road to Chorrol - he was big and green and I instantly thought of Hulk. Well, it turned out that this actually was his name.
...I don't know, it's strange to see Hulk in Oblivion. I would've liked it better if he had been named "Orsigiant" or something like that. However, the main problem I'm having is that, in comparison to your other creatures, he looks so damn ugly. And I don't mean the giants-are-supposed-to-be-ugly-ugly; I mean that his texture seemed to be very very crude and his mesh was very low-poly, and the polys that were there seemed to be in the wrong places, making him look all edgy and weird.
This might sound harsh now, but I don't mean it that way. Just... it'd be cool if you tweak the giants a little bit.
One problem with the giants that is non-visual: They can enter caves and get stuck inside. I'd say that they simply shouldn't be able to enter any doors - that would be the easiest way to avoid that problem, and it makes sense most of the time due to their size.
You can do that by giving them an Intelligence value that is lower than 30. From thirty on, creatures are able to use doors.
Another problem: I've met a couple of merchants on the roads, I'm guessing they're from the Crowded Roads plugin. However, none of them would sell me anything, and they didn't have any unique topics.
(Same with the druids, by the way, but maybe they're not supposed to sell/say anything anyway.)
This is a bummer, because I'd really like to buy one of those druid hoods, if they're available in black or dark grey. They have this unique shape that looks way better than the vanilla hoods (especially the point is adorable!), and I'd love to have one for my thief.

Re nvidia black screen bug:
Like Anja and Dazu said, use Wrye Bash and Bashed patch. It will fix value for fog near for EVERY cell edited or created by ANY mod. Given that the mod is loaded before Bashed patch.

that will be lots of work for that, because you said THE armour...it's not exactly THE but these. WAC and the arena will have hundreds of armors and clothes. I pity the one who want to convert all that just so it can use a different body.Anja the Wisperer wrote:Will you allow conversions of the armour for other female body types? my guess? Once I'm all done, you'll want to drop HGEC.. only a guess though

yeah the giants look low res, that's because they are big and what you wouldn't see usually (or much less) on a xivilai, is blown out when I make them big. I also think they look too low res. I would have to rework them a bit, and add more polygons.Fearabbit wrote:Something I didn't like as much were the giants. Hulk is a test stuff I made as a joke for meself. Discard this it won't stay. You shouldn't meet a lot of them in this version anyway (I never met one myself).
I will fix the giants intelligence. it should not be high anywayOne problem with the giants that is non-visual: They can enter caves and get stuck inside. I didn't modify this. I will check that later.Another problem: I've met a couple of merchants on the roads, I'm guessing they're from the Crowded Roads plugin. However, none of them would sell me anything, and they didn't have any unique topics.
you can find yourself a black hood of this sort either on some dark mages (evil mages of WAC are all wearing dark robes), or on some bandits too.(Same with the druids, by the way, but maybe they're not supposed to sell/say anything anyway.)

This is the alpha release. WAC Alpha v005b at the moment.MasterAub wrote:

The French people don't need to wait, but just need to register here as everybody else. I don't mind a French topic or two on this here forum, as I'm French speaking myself.
WAC is in English because it's Oblivion's original language, and I can't stand translations. Be them for movies, game, or even books. I'm not considering a French translation of WAC anytime soon (by myself).
I guess it can be done, as it's just editing the names of things in the masters/esp. But as WAC is in Alpha, I won't permit a person to do it until it's more matured. it's kind of counter-productive if a person translate an Alpha version...I guess you don't want to translate WAC more than once, so not until it's more final.

Hey there guys
,
This is my first post here, i actually started a new install today and dl-ed and installed WAC.
So in short im a noob here, please bear with me (and dont mind my spelling
).
Im not much off a poster, but ill try and reprt my finds as a go along. If i say some old news, please skip it. I started reading this here forum, but only this thread alone has already 76 pages
.
Anyway here's my first after about 3 hours play:
1. Like i said i started fresh with a lvl 1 char, to my great amusement i noticed the emperor has a beard...
Not sure if i like him that way but hey, its in the eye of the beholder. but will there be a option/esp to turn beards
off?
2. After my first few encounters with bandits (they look awesome btw) i found these weapons armor on them:
Fine Angular Broadkris - worth 450 gold
Mongolian Recurve Leather - worth 1625 gold
Seaward Cutlass - worth 875 gold
Lion Claw Saber - worth 1450 gold
a bit overprized in my opinion, will those prizes be changed? i mean if this keeps up youll be rich in no time flat.
I myself wouldnt play a mod if items will gain me tose prizes
3. Also i found them wearing golden plate greaves, wouldnt it be nicer/better to find those later on, a few lvl's up?
Or maybe renaming them? Like brass plate greaves or so, they are bandits afterall, i'd get drunk on all the gold
4. Not a crash at all in those first hours of play, saw quite a few of your creature and armor, no further graphic glitches, looking good so far.
Thx for your hard work Waalx! and of course the rest of you

Prices: Loot is not really touched. Prices are a bit random. No real balance here.
Gold on higher levels: This mod is almost entirely unleveled. What you find at lvl57 will be equal to what you find at lvl 1
Beards: Totally up to Waalx. Doubt it, lots of extra work over a small thing

To report a little more on the black screen issue:
Unfortunately, the wrye bashed patch solutions did not work.
I have almost never encountered this problem before installation of WAC. It, in addition, to red dog camp, happens also in gnoll's meeting place.
Thanks

Impossible, I think.v1rtu0so wrote:To report a little more on the black screen issue:

- Did you checked "nvidia fog fix" under 'tweak assorted' when rebuilding your bashed patch?
- Is your bashed patch loading after all WAC mods?
If these two conditions are fulfilled, bashed patch will change the value of fog near to 0,0001 (or something like that) for every cell that has that value 0.
And that is what causes the black screen bug.

washington is right. I've been to the Gnoll's meeting place and Red Dog camp, plus the others and had no problems.v1rtu0so wrote:To report a little more on the black screen issue:

Wrye Bash has the best solution yet for the black screen issue. Make sure the Bashed Patch is absolutely last in your load order after all other mods.
I'm using a lot of other mods as well, but not anything that adds creatures or changes leveled lists for my WAC testing character. My characters who use OOO and MMM have different profiles so WAC gets priority.

Yup, both things are followed. Perhaps what I am experiencing is the nvidia black bug, but ssomething else that causes black screen. As soon as I turn my character's head towards these camps, the screen turns black. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact I overclock my card? (but then this issue is new to me)washington wrote:Impossible, I think.v1rtu0so wrote:To report a little more on the black screen issue:

Those NPCs aren't merchants, they're "Merchants' Suppliers". None of the Crowded Roads NPCs are meant to trade or offer unique conversations or anything like that. They're just generic NPCs who wander from town to town to make Cyrodiil look more populated.Fearabbit wrote: Another problem: I've met a couple of merchants on the roads, I'm guessing they're from the Crowded Roads plugin. If you want actual travelling merchants there's a mod called Tamriel Travellers which adds those but they won't sell WAC stuff of course.

Once WAC is closer to being final I'll get that done.

Been enjoying this mod for the past few days and had little issues with it. One thing i have noticed though (and im not sure if it has been mentioned before) is that sometimes when i quickload i get a random spell added to my spell list, of course if i quickload again it goes away but i found it quite odd.
Great work though.
