those are in-game picture, so it look like this already. Pictures are to show how it DOES look. It look like that here for me. So unless you have a TRS-80, it should look the same for youConker343qc wrote:... If it's going to look like this, it's gonna be awesome... although it looks weird for undead to walk into the broad daylight...

It's night time as well unless you see dark blue sky with stars in the day?

Deep down, we're all bad people. Some of us are just better at it.

Thanks Wallx...dlding now. I am using my brand new computer. It has vista 64 bit and plays 210 mods just fine. It also has the new 280 nvidia card with 1 gig mem....a 4 gigs Cosair ram plus the new intell quad core 2.5 ghz.and 4 HD's @ 500 gigs each. All this is said first for those that think vista sucks for OBL.I did nothing special to get it to work and to let you know what the system is that I'm testing on. I will be turning MMM and OOO off for this. I will get back with ya later.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke off.

I downloaded this mod as soon as I got my membership confirmed.
It is a stunning achievement. I played for two hours straight with no crashes and was just astounded at everything I saw. I cast an invisibility spell so I could sneak up on the animals and take screen shots although a couple of gargoyles spotted me before I could cast it. They were tough on my level 6 character which I chose because it's a test character mainly.
I have a pretty low to mid range computer and I played with OOO and MMM with no problem at all. I am impressed with the medieval feel. For example the bridge towers with the guards and the bodies hanging from gibbets.
I must have seen more than twenty or more different types of creatures in that short time. I only stopped playing because it's 3 in the morning so I have to get some sleep. But tomorrow I will be back there looking for more. I think it will take me ages to see them all and the mod will be final by then.
The white lion is beautiful!
I dare to say I may well be replacing a long time favourite creature mod with this one depending on what they add.
Thank you for the opportunity to preview this masterpiece! More tomorrow!

yeah, they're definatly enchanted, but they are walking undead knights and lords, all decked out in their armor and weapons, shouldn't they be enchanted?

I agree with Anja on everything...Love the Smilodon and the Elk,..I hunt elk here in Oregon, well not anymore but I have when I was younger...So far no crashes and I also decided to leave MMM and OOO in, plays smoothly. I would like to see more spawn areas for the larger creatures..Awesome work and will definitely be using this...Git er done

there are 10 skull variations for the squires that have open helmets, and two for Knights with bucket helms. Belive me that just seeing two skeletons side by side with both a mouth missing different teeth is something else.
I have to upgrade the 'regular' skeletons head and make more variations like that later.
I'm sure you'll find some bugs later-onAnja The Whisperer wrote:I have a pretty low to mid range computer and I played with OOO and MMM with no problem at all.

I have a low range machine as well by today's standard. Although I don't run other overhauls, WAC mess with my brain enough like that, I need to just see what I add anyway, otherwise I'll loose my time too much.
very small details can sometimes go a long way. I have more ideas.. let's see if I get to do it all.I am impressed with the medieval feel. For example the bridge towers with the guards and the bodies hanging from gibbets.
the other creatures overhauls just won't be authorized to add anything from WAC. WAC is a new thing with new stuff. if all my best stuff is just used to beef-up an already too fat beef I'm working for nothing on my overhaul like an idiot and I don't want that.I dare to say I may well be replacing a long time favourite creature mod with this one depending on what they add.
Last December I was saying this would be a free resources stuff. Not anymore. Not now that it's about ALL I do in modding.
Now that is changed, and the overhaul I'm working on (WAC) shall not be dissected by other overhauls. Bridges can be made, plugs that ensure the full compatibility, but you won't see smurfs in MMM or my new lions in MMM either.
MMM is 3 years old with enough content from all over the place. WAC is just being born, and that with all new content not seen anywhere else and from the same source. I don't want that to be lost over. My work in an entity, I think a lot about it. It should stay whole.
WAC resources can be used from the master by anyone like Oblivion.esm. For anything that need more than a handful, this is the only way to go. You can't re-distribute the whole of WAC.
If you want to make say a small mod with a few creatures only, use a corpse, or something then no problem. For big things, it's another question. WAC can be bridged to work with other overhauls. It can only be added to FCOM as an overhaul as well. Anything less make my work pass for not even worthy of full consideration. And if that is so, then screw it. Keep FCOM without it then. WAC RealSwords is going to overshadow FCOM RealSwords greatly anyway.
WAC has some unique creatures. Smurfs, Greenies, Dead Lords, bandit armors, the 8th gate, Hircine,... and all the stuff you now try, or will soon try

If I wanted to beef up MMM I would have released the stuff as I was doing it. Martigen isn't doing his mod anymore. His idea/plan was different from mine, and it should show. Martigen isn't even on the freaking mod anymore, it's a continuation of his initial idea.. MMM should be closed and put into a final version.
I want my bandits armors, my Dead Knights, to be something you won't get in another overhaul. You get Hill Giants in both MMM and in WAC. You get many stuff that look different in both. And to be honest, it's not my problem if many of my stuff make MMM stuff look crappy, it's my advantage!

The process of creating WAC went much much bigger than what I expected. So the (my) expectations about it also changed.
.
Let the new stuff stand a chance on it's own.
That's my position.
It will probably piss-off some peoples, and I can already hear the yelling about the fact I withdraw some cards, yet I do it for a reason. And now you (all) know.
Thank you for the opportunity to preview this masterpiece!

they have a shader on, dread zombie I think. Those look good without the shader too, you will see some Forgotten Dead Knights, knights with no goals, that are much less powerful that the Lords. The shader will help to make them more visible in the dark, and for Dead Knight it give them a creepy aura.Haruko wrote:is it just me, or are those skeletons wearing enchants? they seem to be glowing purple.
I wrote the Dead Knight quests yesterday. It should be a blast if all goes well

This is a part of the Dead Knight quest system. A sort of ever going small quest.
*The Lords Swords
As you progress and beat the Dead Knight Lords, it possible you may want to keep their weapon. The 7 lords each have a different bastard sword with different powers. The blades will be enchanted so they recognize each other and will refuse to be picked-up if another is in your possession, so you can only carry one-at-a-time.
Taking a blade from a lord will mean you have started a feud againts him. And he will pursue you periodically (most times with squires and lower knights). A new quest called Feud with "Lord Something" will be added, and that say you have stolen property on you. The sword will not be a stolen item, but it will be a quest item so you can't dump it.
So taking a blade from a lord put a curse on you, and the only way to remove that curse is to return the weapon to the lord it belong to by fighting him again and asking for a yield. In that case the weapon will be removed from your hand with a few hateful words and the quest will be over, and the Lord will forgive you.
-
I will add more spawn points later. that's a starting point. There are places that do need more spawn where I didn't placed much yet, and there's also the placement of all species in unique spots around the map where they will re-spawn always.Harley5by5 wrote:I would like to see more spawn areas for the larger creatures..Awesome work and will definitely be using this...Git er done

Well after a busy day of college, I finally sit here a bit tired and anxious to try out this mod even more! Not even out of the dungeon yet and I can see some differences already: mainly the mythic dawn. I have to admit, I found the hoods a bit weird to begin with, but then again I think about who the MD are and...well, fitting I must say. I'm curious though, wouldn't a mask over the eyes be a bit more fitting for them anyways? I mean, their summonable armor is all-concealing, I'm surprised their robes aren't indentity-protective either. regardless, your project means your taste though, just a suggested that came to mind now. I look foreword to future expeditions in this mod
I decided not to try this with any major quest-mods either, other than Midas Magic >_> I'm hoping those are compatible in the long run. If not, I'll make note of any problems that I run into. I doubt there will be many, other than possibly the skeep quest maybe. I dont recall Midas altering too much in tamriel after he got the idea of the stargate.

Yayz !!!
Quests + Waalx = awesomeness . For once in my Tamrielic life, i will feel that i'm being pursued ... (i've never been a criminal in tamriel, anyway, the DB is boring. go there , kill him, money = fail)
. That's the kind of thing that's missing , even in big quests mods...something always there , and something consistent yet changing . I downloaded Fighter's guild contracts (btw it's awesome for immersionists) and it adds something constant, but it feels repetitive after a time... Good to hear you launched yourself in questing !

Here's a pic of the Knights blades, that are in fact now the fundation of RealSwords - Ayleid. My Ayleid stuff won't be made of just glowing blue rocks, that a very narrow image of a culture in my opinion. Alas ALL other Ayleid mod are just that, blue and glowing.
Let the Green Wanderer correct a bit of that, after all those five models are his first and probably only known sword line (in the Chronicles of Steel).
Only the left one, the bastard, is very powerful in magic. Lesser versions are sometimes found with small enchantment that mirror feebly the real one in the bastard swords. There are non-enchanted bastards too, but they are plain. Magical ones look the part.
Sword and scabbard metal shading is 99% hand painted, leather is 100% hand painted. This is OpenGl render, so, it's not a render.
From Left to right
Knight Lord Bastard Sword, Knight Sword, Squire Sword, Archer Saber, and Knight Dagger. on this it's magical version of scabbards and metal fitting. Usual grunts will not get this, only honor guards, and Lords for the unique bastards.

Well its been a few hours and my body is telling me to go to bed, so I shall. From what I've seen though, here's my initial reactions:
- Love the personalized armors you have made, brass armor and whatnot. they look pretty and I cannot wait to see the rest.
- the downfall of these is it slightly irks me that these items have few custom icons on the menu. a minor issue, I understand, but I hope you make some for them.
- Those armless things run FAST. holy crap, those things are hard to keep up with. It's nice to see things like that, and all the other wildlife running about too. Loving that feeling I'm getting from the wildlife in this mod. It brings back a bit of the feeling that Morrowind gave me with its creatures: wild and unique, but oh so... fitting. Again, cannot wait to explore more.
- the scenery of hanged men is sweet, but sometimes feels a bit out of place. Like, the hanged man on Anvil Docks. While it does send a message, wouldn't it be best to put that a bit farther down the coast than right next to a tavern? You'd want to warn the people before they get in dock. Sides, think of the tourists
- a final thing: I love what little I explored of Hircine's realm. The fog gives a sweet ambience that lets you know that though you are impaired in vision here, the things that hunt you are not. Cannot wait to fully explore that lot there.
Now for the critisism feedback from these few hours
- In Hircine's Realm, the 'beach' areas that meet up with lava seem like a direct cut off if you use Real Lava or other mods that reskin the nasty red stuff of burnnating death. Perhaps it might be a good idea to detail these areas a bit with a few rocks or scorched earth or something?
- I ran into a Fire Fear right next to Anvil's docks, and mr. guard there decided to chase after it. While I understand it's normal for speedy fear there to outrun and outwit the guard there... well, watching a guard run back and forth, forgetting now and again that he's chasing something, sort of ruins the atmosphere of a guarded city wall >_> maybe it might be a good idea to adjust spawning areas for those things to be a bit farther away?
Other than this, I havent seen any glaring errors or issues though. One thing I'm noticing is the armors and whatnot are not designed for body mods, such as HGEC which I am using right now. I'm glad you made that decision to use what appears to be the Vanilla body (honestly I avoid that like the plague these days because it seems like few female armors are actually made for it anymore) and became curious: Since you're no longer making this free source, will you be making an exception for modders to adjust the meshes to the other body mods, or does it still stand for that? Again, not a glaring issue, but me mind seems to be focusing on the littler things right now.
Also, I am curious on how the Hircine realm gates are going to work in the final release. Are you going to worm it so those gates can exist at the same time as gates to the Deadlands? It'd be interesting to see two gates opening up in the same plains or something and having the forces of Mehrunes and Hircine fight over the petty mortals inbetween. Of course, I lack knowledge in CES and whatnot so I have no idea how possible that'd be.
Loving it thus far, cannot wait to see the rest and how it develops from here on. Also, I'll try not to be so long with a post in the future. My brain's on eek, meaning I tend to get a bit rambly XD Anyways, goodnight.

Very nice swords, I actually like Madcat221's weapons but these are also nice and more fitting for WAC
@nemetoad: Where did you read this will not be a modders resource when it's done":S
edit: A little suggestion for later. You got gibbets etc. How about scarecrows?

Ah, that one is my fault. I read back earlier in the thread and misinterpreted what Waalx had said about not wanted his content put into MMM and OOO and the like. My apologies.
I did run into a problem last night though. At Abecean Goblin Camp, the one directly south of Anvil. When I exited the Chief goblin's tent, I'd get stuck in the door and be unable to move; sometimes I ended up inside the tent model too. Also, that tent was really tight on the chief inside too. I thought he was stuck on the support pillar in the center for a while, but he eventually left the tent. Now, off I go to try out other places!
BTW, in Hircine's realm, is the fog supposed to leave at night? I entered it at night and it was extremely clear for once.
