to mine chroniclers

Waalx here.

Me thought We could help ye ter better understand how wos them people speaching, in them old days o' Tamriel when Me wos travelling.

Under mine large green hat, that Me can't see them color now as ghostly being cannot keep them colors, Me saw this new forge appearin' arnd people in it, wanting to rework mine story. But thet did not know how weth speach back in them old days. So Me said ter mine faithfull Wood (mine walking stick), that Me can try arnd maybe have thet better understand ourse.

Lo and behold them list We did down here, arnd it shall help ye ter understand better mine beautiful speaching.

the = them

their = ther

they = thet

to = ter

for = fer

and = arnd

I = Me

I am = Am

we = weth

you = ye

your = yer

She = sher

he = het

him = himst

her = herst

was = wos

his = hist

hers = sherst

of = o'

my = mine

me = my

us = ourse

yourself = yerself

himself = himtself

themselves = therself

them = themst

Wood arnd my shall hover around them place, ter see yer work. Arnd maybe one day weth can take a cup o' tea, if We could hold it.

Arnd, er, do ye folks have by any chance, some moonsugar on ye? By mine unexistant beard! Me forgot! Me have a date with tiber septim ex third wife! See ye later!

That is wonderful, really puts some soul into the character.
Am I to understand that all the stories are to be written in that manner then? And if so, should the entire text be written like that or only the parts where the character "Waalx" is speaking and/or explaining?

no Fatina! dont do that it tickles.. er...?...

...ah yer there?

just ter say, some more words about mine speaching.

ye don't have ter write it like Me speach. Them best way ter do it would be fer ye ter write in yer modern form. arnd then edit them text with them machines o' colors arnd sounds.

er..Me have ter go now..see ye! Come with my, Wood.

Me coming Fatina!

Wood is quite a stick ter start with..Never loose his grain as weth could say.

Het just tell my het did know how them machine o' pictures arnd colors works (or worked in hist case), arnd het did something fer ye ter see. Me don't think them machine survived them process (Wood is an rather solid timber), but yer going ter be able ter see them results fer yerself.

Khajiit Chapter 3

Orc Chapter 1

Het speached as well that ye should not fear, het can destroy another one o' them machine fer yer next transcriptions o' mine deeds arnd stories. Het told my even with ter lexicon We wrote, yer not 'old' enough ter do it yerself arnd understand them subtleties o' mine beautiful way o' speaching. Me told him, yer hard! Arnd het said " that's right, Am Wood like a piece o' wood" Go figure what goes into themst vegetals ter make themst so hard to speach with...

Damn that makes a solid difference, what did you use? A text editor to replace all the words with the "new" ones?

I can honestly say that my text is better with the new changes, I actually laughed on several occasions while reading it. Because the character "Waalx" seems so hilariously lovely when reading what "he" has written.

Ahhhh...it all becomes suddenly clear, Waalx! I'll use your chart and see what I can do. I almost feel like I'll need to get in touch with my inner leprechaun.

Wood meant it!..ye chroniclers stick to yer new way of speaching and let Wood destroy more o' yer odds machines fer takin' yer new horrid language arnd turn its into real, beautiful speach. Ye've been warned, Wood doesn't like ter play!

I was wondering if you could post a little information on "Waalx" here Waalx. It would help me later if I had some cameo's on him :)

You know, just some information on his upbringing, former love, siblings, family, special interests, unique features etc.

Any of those would be swell.

Before I have made some stuff up, like in the intro for the Orc Chronicles I mention he gets a tattoo. But I can't make any major stuff up (from obvious reasons, him being your brainchild :)) so anything you could offer would be appreciated! 8-)

Aye, Me can try arnd help ye an little..

Upbringing? don't remind being born, Me don't know when its happened. Arnd thast an sad story mine lad. Me don't even know them day o' mine birthday. So Me arnd Wood always feast on an different day eatch years, so at least ist not always them same day like regular folks. An blessing ye could speach. Wood thinks so himtself, but fer my, ah...one o' them sad thing o' livin' so long my guess.. to forget one ownst day o' life ist not them best thing.

former love?...eh. Do ye have an year or two? Me wos quite them dandy in mine young days...arnd in mine old ones too..hehehe! But ye don't wanna know thast..afraid o' saying things some young lads might not yet been ready fer...if ye know whast Me mean...

Me have too many families across them world to count arnd even remember themst all..

as fer them rest..er..let my think an couple o' decades about its, Me have ter remember...

Alright, I now know that:

He doesn't remember his earliest days, and that it is somewhat painful for him.

He is a charmer, well experienced in terms of women.
(It was actually more love, as in love I was thinking about, it is so much more powerful to write about than just a fling... Or many flings in his case.)

He has a huge family, and doesn't remember them all if any.

I'll be awaiting an update on this someday, when you have figured out some more about him :)

Loved themst all them same way lad. But ye've got ter understand, Me wos rarely staying at them same place fer long. Thast made my never want ter chose only onse o' themst beauties. So Me chosed ter get themst all, but only fer a time.

O' course some o' themst stories went on fer an time with some o' themst, but Me lived an long life, mine lad. Arnd they all died too fast fer me ter make an decision about its.

Arnd ye know, mine real love o' the life gift wos about giving life ter minerals anrd rocks. Not ter create little versions o' mineself.

Although Wood seems ter think thast Me had made some little waalxs thast never knew theirst father (how awful fer themst, poor things. Me would like ter speak to themst father)..

Het so speach in the sense thast because o' this, there's still ayleid blood in some o' them folk thast dance on them Tamriel world these days..Mine legacy het speach..But Whast good can this do? Me always ask himst. Wood's never had an answer fer thast..

Ok, I get that he doesn't have much affinity for love per say. I'm not asking for a marriage or anything like that.

Just toss me a bone will you? :|

Me tell ye..

Ist good thast ye chroniclers wanna write mine life. Me understand o' course as mine life wos soooo great arnd all...But ye've get ter understand thast Them Chronicles o' Steel isn't about my, ist 'bout steel.

Whast does themst readers care o' the life o' an old mer like my? They buy them books ter know 'bout them blades Me wager..Sword arnd sorcery, not Bed arnd Breakfast...(although Me like mine bacon well cooked. thank ye!).

Arnd let my tell ye an thing, lad. When yer bowed down on yer paper arnd yer writing them manuscript whipping tears o' happiness from yer troubled brows, who do ye think stand by yer side ter yell in yer ear (that ye should clean Me have to say) whast is them story. Me already tellin'. Ye should listen

Are the books going to be like this in the game? Couldn't you please consider us "outlanders" who find it difficult enough with ordinary english and make an alternate version with normal english in the books? It takes me about twice as much time and ten times as much effort to read a "waalxified" chronicle than a normal one.

This part of the forum hasn't been updated in a long time.

The texts are in English in the latest version. Only remain of Waalx speech is when he speak his own dialogs in the stories. Otherwise the rest of it is in English.

'Waalxification' became this minimal at one point as I noticed that same thing. It's fun for one story, but for the number there is in the Chronicles it's best to tone this down.

There may be one or two stories that will remain like this, although they will be unique items you will find doing the Chronicles of Steel quest.

What is in the game for the player to read is explained as being a contemporary translation/edition of what once was the Chronicles of Steel.
