I'm telling you, those chickens are evil. They mind control the NPC's so they can't run for shelter and die to dragons.
Sorry to hear that about the Dragon Souls, are you maybe using similar mods like Dragon Soul Absorb More Glorious? I hat to remove that one because i also could not absorb the Dragon Souls, but once removed i could?
No, the only dragon mod I have is Deadly Dragons. I read that it can be a bug caused by Dragonborn and fixed by the Unofficial DB Patch which I have (latest version), but I don't think it's related. I finished DB ages ago and could still absorb souls afterwards, and this has only just started. I wondered if it was dragons I had already killed, ie from the named sites as that is normal, but these were in the wild. I'm thinking it's probably mixed up with the reason I can't start that other quest. Scripts or data leftover in saves or something. We can't do the "clean save" thing like Oblivion anymore to clean unused data out of saves. According to Arthmoor it doesn't work, even though some think it does.

It doesn't really matter that much as I'm getting the itch to start a warrior which I may be forced to do if anything else bugs out.
Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it sayingEnd Of The World Switch PLEASE DO NOT TOUCHthe paint wouldn't even have time to dry. Terry Pratchett

I knew it, so that is why my parents chickens used to look at me like that.

Sorry to hear that about possibly having to restart, especially after getting your character up so far. As for the so called Clean Save, yeah i saw that information from Arthmoor. He knows what he is talking about, so i rather believe his word then those who still preach that making a clean save works. I have added a line under the General section of the skyrim.ini that is supposed to use a new function from skse that should stop left over scripts that are no longer used.

I just added the following line...

I have no issues with the More Glorious Dragon Soul Absorb and I use a lot of heavily scripted mods, and animation mods. I sometimes think it is just a matter of luck in finding a combination that works for you.

The one unusual thing in the build of my pc is that I have a huge drive to manage "swap" files - it is something that my brother and cousin both build into the computers they build. They both believe that it adds greatly to the stability of memory in game.

Well from what i know, it can help some computers. Some one once did the same with my computer but i was not seeing any difference, so i hat them return my PC to what it was before.

As for Dragon Soul Absorb More Glorious working for you...well it was working for me as well until i started using Dragon Combat Overhaul from ApolloDown. But you are right, it does involve luck as well. It was always nice to see the effect of Dragon Soul Absorb More Glorious...but the Dragon fights with DCO are so epic and long that you are really glad to finally get the dragon soul already.

Are you talking about Virtual Memory (the Paging File)? That's only of use if you don't have enough system RAM to start with and in most cases it's better to let Windows manage it. It can increased if the PC is having problems with slow performance, but in games or other programs that have high memory requirements it's better to have more physical RAM in conjunction with system managed Virtual Memory. Windows 7 handles it better than XP though as it has better memory management overall.

The main use of Virtual Memory is the smooth transfer of data when a program needs it if there's not enough system RAM so there's no flow interrupt, most important in games and other high usage programs. Data is read faster from physical RAM than the hard drive anyway. It doesn't matter that much how big an actual hard drive is unless it's more than 2/3 full when you will get slower performance, it's physical RAM that is more important. I have a TB hard drive, only 3GB of system RAM (will get more when able though) and have never needed to increase my Virtual memory settings.

Well from what i know, it can help some computers. Some one once did the same with my computer but i was not seeing any difference, so i hat them return my PC to what it was before.
You're right. It won't make a noticeable difference unless you have a nearly full hard drive which can eventually cause drive wear and tear and disk thrashing, or not enough system RAM to run more than Windows itself. I know all this because I researched it when I had Windows XP and I did make some changes to that, but still didn't see any difference.

Image

Ahwww Puppies. :) ( Thanks for placing that mod Maigrets. )
Image

Definitely not Puppies...Nice dogs...SIT? ( Good thing they belong to good old Eorlund. Not that they would be dangerous for my character if they were not. :) )
Image

Uhmm...sorry Maigrets.

But since i need access to Blackreach, i first need to go and do dirty work for old crazy Septimus. ( Things are never easy for a Dragonborn.  )

You'd think one of them would have a camera and a notebook...lol.
Uhmm...sorry Maigrets.
Typical. :P I wonder why it doesn't work for me when the other 3 quest mods I've finished work perfectly. I expect screenshots and plenty of notes....

With Dragonborn installed you'll notice a couple of small differences since your last visit to Septimus.

LoL Thanks Ailsa.

But no not all of my fights take place at night. Those two Dragon fights where both North of Winterhold, during a heavy Thunderstorm. Combine that with the cloud retexture "Dramatic clouds" and the new mod "Summer Skyrim 3" ( I use it including Summer Skies, although that one is optional ) then you can get those skies it seems. :) But i also use Imaginator in my game so that is of influence as well.

Summer Skyrim 3 looks pretty good so far, although i now have snow and ice back but i can live with that. One thing any one should know is that if you do not use Imaginator or something similar, then the game is very bright when using Summer Skyrim 3. By the way i am using Summer Skyrim 3 SD.

I am definitely going to try Summer Skyrim :D

I felt that Vurt's latest grass and trees were actually losing their suitability for the lore of the game so I took them out. However I think that I might not go for Dramatic Clouds LOL I think that many countries in the Northern hemisphere don't always have dark and lowering skies :D :P

That is so far the only Thing i am asking myself as well...why that big? Then again who knows what goes around in the mind of a mod author.
Alftand Cathedral is open.

Hey me trying to turn you in to scrap metal is nothing to get all steamed up about? :D

Here we go again with that annoying machinery.

Fresh air is in sight again.

LOL I only do the main quest for that mysterious beauty of Blackreach :D

Though Summer Skyrim 3HD is beautiful I think that I might try the lighter version to see if I can see the scenery a bit more :D

Very vibrant shots. :) What is the sword in the pic with the Steam Centurion?

I really like Blackreach as well. It has an ethereal air about it.

Summer Skyrim looks nice, but I like Vurt's Flora, Summer Edition well enough. It looks very natural to me. (Says the Tropical Skyrim aficionado. :cheese: It has a big update coming soon, but I'm not sure if I want to change around again.)

Thank you Maigrets, and that is the Skyrim style version of a well known Oblivion Blade.

Shadowrend

But unless you bought it, you can not use that mod because it does require Dawnguard, sorry. :( ( Although i am now wondering why it does require DG? )

It certainly does.

Well you can not go wrong with Vurts mod, and Skyrim Springtime is also very great...but when i saw Summer Skyrim 3 i decided to try it out. And so far things look pretty darn good in my opinion, i will have to wait and see how things will continue with Summer Skyrim. Yeah Tropical Skyrim is absolutely great...but if no version comes out for less powerful computers then i will not try it out again in the future. ( So we will have to wait and see. :) )

No, no DG yet. I have seen rumours that a Game of the Year Edition is coming in a couple of months so I'll probably look at that, even though it means buying the main game and Dragonborn again. I don't really want the sword though it looks interesting, but I have several weapon packs with swords I love...just can't use them all at once...lol.

This is the current changelog for Tropical Skyrim's update, but it doesn't mention a time frame for release which is probably a good thing as we know what happens with set dates. There's supposed to be modular versions as far as textures go, so I hope that happens, although I don't like the mention of the 4K rock textures. He does mention improved performance and other tweaks...so here's hoping.

Copied from the mod comment page:
spoiler:
Next update will include a lot of fixes / new things, but the main features are:

-- Windhelm retexture.

-- completely redone foliage including trees/bushes and grass (now the focus is on quality not quantity).

-- The reach now features dense Cypress trees.

-- Improved performance (I get an average FPS of about 30, In the last version the average was about 20).

-- most textures have been tweaked to blend together more realisticly.

-- 4k rock texture.

-- Caves are now tropicalified (if thats a word) (new lighting, new textures, vines/ivy everywhere, removed large trees)

-- Proper Distant tree LOD (correct lighting, proper sizes, and they dont look 2d anymore).

-- new heavily edited distant terrain textures, (High-res, the distant terrain now looks better than the close up terrain.)

-- All bugs related to distant objects are gone (floating buildings, random huge plants in the desert)

-- Added ivy to cliffs/mountains.

-- retextures for some armor and clothes.

-- Real 3D clouds, which I might just release as a seperate mod.

-- many various other tweaks.

Hmm some of that sounds promising, but several do not. One of those that do not is a FPS drop of 20...even though it was 30 before, a drop of 20 is to much for my taste. But we will have to wait and see i guess. :)

Now to some screenshots.
Quit different...but i am taking a liking to it. :) ( Yeah i am weird that way. )

Those shots look lovely and very tantalising - I think it is time to try out some of the quest mods I have ear-marked to play :D
