Most of the time I listen to Rap and Punk Rock.
Here are some of my favorites of the genres:
Rap: Wu-tang Clan (everything, even some of the lousy solo stuff), GP Wu, Killarmy, Lone Catalysts, Boot Camp Click, Declaime/Dudley Perkins, KIZ (one of the groups to rescue German Rap), K-OS, Non Phixion, Oh No, Talib Kweli (mostly the older stuff like Reflection Eternal (with Hi-Tek) and Black Stars (with Mos Def)), The Roots (everything), Saian Supa Crew (incredible French group; I don't understand much, but the stuff rocks)...
I also own two or three ICP albums, Waalx, but I'm not sure if I could listen to all six of them in a row...
Punk Rock: Rise Against (best Punk band ever and forever! I so love their music, it even brings me up on very bad days.), Anti-Flag (close behind; the Terror State album is pure genius), Good Riddance, Against Me!, AFI (all of the older albums are classics), Lagwagon, Pennywise, Propagandhi...
Heavy Metal, Rock, Hardcore: Therapy (Troublegum reminds my of my teenage years), Such A Surge (German Hip Hop/Hardcore crossover band; now disbanded, but were very successful (and good) once), Slapshock (Filipino Nu Metal band; don't listen to that stuff normally, but a friend recommended it and I like it), Killswitch Engage, Rammstein (great music and super poetic texts! If you haven't the DVD with the live concert in Nimes/France, check it out; incredible show and atmosphere), Rage against the Machine, Pantera, Misconduct, Apocalyptica (the Plays Metalica by four Celli is a true piece of art), Sepultura, Disturbed...
Electro: Prodigy (everything), Fisherspooner (LA Song is number one on my most played list in iTunes), Shiny Toy Guns, Architecture in Helsinki, Aphrodite, Emily Autumn (discoverd her a few months ago by chance and now I'm fascinated by here mixture of Indusrial and Classic; this brought my to Rotersand and Combichrist, which is really heavy Industrial stuff, but quite interesting)...
Soundtracks: I don't listen to that much OSTs, but two are a mainstay in my list: A Nightmare before Christmas (both in German and English very good) and Dune- Spice Opera (the OST of the first Dune PC game; not Dune 2 (RTS); you can download it semi-legal from the web)
Outside of competition: Elvis Presley (Are you lonesome tonight???), Johnny Cash (a great musician and singer), Bob Marley (simple but beautiful)
Stay open minded because there is only one real genre: Good Music (Though, it's highly subjective sometimes... Though, sometimes not...
)
Greetz! Darina
Edit
Waalx is that download of the Conan OST still available? I couldn't find it... Could someone provide me with a link? Thanks in advance!

not about music but I just watched Mongol...
and WOW. that movie art direction is great.
I love old Mongol stuff, their weapons and armors are beautiful. this film has a feel of the first Conan movie, of witch many things where inspired by Mongolian culture.
great movie!

Hello guys !
When i`m listening to Oblivion, i`m pretty much listening to the original Oblivion soundtrack, and i`ve added music by the great composer Inon Zur, and an underground composer called MaestroRage (Newgrounds.com audio portal, w00t! ) . Also i`ve got songs of an old composer of the 19th century that a guy posted on Planet Elder scrolls. Pretty in line with Oblivion context !
Outside of O.B i listen to pretty much everything. Speed Metal (DragonForce, and others...) , OSTs (Braveheart (i`m a little bit scottish, mates,
) Gladiator, LotR , Oblivion ost, Pirates of the Carabbean) Electro dance music (DJ Kevin Tandersen, Mondotek, everything turning around the so called <TeckTonik> ) . Also i listen to NFS Music a lot (Carbon, MW, Porsche unleashed, U1 , U2) , a little bit of modern Country (aka Big`n`rich) , classic rock (Iron maiden, Bon jovi,Motorhead) Modern rock (Airbourne, Audioslave (show me how to live is my ringtone! ) ) Blues (Sir Stevie Ray Vaughn R.I.P
) and to finish it all , a little taste for Jazz when i`m driving late at night !

Name of it is "Anvil of Crom"Waalx wrote:that soundtrack Poledouris did for the Conan movies is so hot that for many years you could hear part of it's song in most cinema preview that hadn't yet a real score...
It's probably still used in such instance.
I'm a Conan fan, so I'm more than biased, but that soundtrack is just pure genius, whether you like Conan or not.
should be available in 15 minutes on the server.
If you like that piece you might like:
Carl Orff's O' Fortuna
Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries and Thus Spake Zarathustra
and the music from Seven Voyages of Sinbad
I listen to a lot of classical and early metal. I also favor the Blues. BB King, Robert Johnson, Bobby Bland

Yes, Mongol is a great movie. Any chance that you will get inspiration for some of your weapons from it?Waalx wrote:not about music but I just watched Mongol...

Sorry for the bump, does any one of you here know about a german group that sings in english with that huge medieval influence and lead singer with a badass voice? I am talking about Blind Guardian, these guys are imo awesome, I like that kind of rock music, nice tunes, kick ass voice, when I am not modding or playing games or too dreamy I just listen to Rammstein, I listen Rammstein mostly when I am having a few beers with my friends or when I am moshing and stuff, as well as when I am angry it helps me get even more angry hehe.
and just to mention one of my favourite groups for getting high with and riding white the white horse with is reverend horton heat yeeaa haaw!
