Thanks for clearing that up. The helmets look good by the way, waalx. But that texture on the eye piece looks odd. That eye whole that looks like a net with all interlocking rings. It looks strange because the corner ones get cut off a bit. You could correct that by putting a fish eye lens over it (if you wanted to).

I'd like to believe the arena revamp will be worthy of a restart, if not just to play it.
the armor in progress (nearly final) of the Grand Champion. this is the heavy, the light version will be similar, but in leather. the champion helm light will be the thracian shown up there, but also with feathers..
I also decided that all the closed helms are going to completely replace the heads, as it give me a lot less trouble trying to comformulate them to all the races...I will also try use this trick with a piece of head skin...

in this example here the helm is part of the armor. its a full rainment.

Some helms here aren't textured completely like the Provocator, and the Mirmillo.
the Mirmillo is supposed to be a gladiator with open helm. the Mirmillo model was supposed to be the one tagged as Retiarius on this image.
the Retiarius are supposed to wear no helms, but I have already too many helms, and the Retiarius armor could benefit from the open helmet in my opinion. So I made my Retiarius WITH helms, and the Mirmillo with closed helm, contrary to classical history.
here you can see the two version of the champion helm that is an uprgrade from the Samnite helmet. The Hoplomachus helm is heavier than the Samnite, and the Hoplomachus armor will also be the heaviest of all the Arena armors. Hoplo is a tank. Yet I chose the Samnite for Champion/Grand Champion in heavy armor, because the armor is going to be magical, and giving you an even better protection than an Hoplomachus armor, and also the Samnite armor (that will look like the Grand Champion) is more stylish in my opinion. well the Hoplo is going to have it's own brutal style, but not the hero look the Samnite/Grand champion armor has...
The trainer helm is for Owyn, and the old lady..Aquarius helmet is for some Argonians, Beserker for Orc. Provocator is a special kind of gladiator...
and to answer you a little more Mormacil, what is shown up there is the armors of the grand champion, it doesn't come in yellow or blue, it's red. the armor is golden and the helm is silver. the light version is going to be the same except in brown leather and a silver Thracian with red plumes. The champion armors will be in team colors though...
but the grand armor champion is golden only.
p.s. I received my Musashi book today! Now I just have to find the time to re-read it....

The last Arena helmet lineup looks kickass.
I especially like the Thracian, Samnite and Champion helmets. And the Grand Champion helmet truly looks like a Champion's gear.
Stepping into the arena is definitely going to be like stepping straight into the ancient Roman Colosseum now. I'm glad you're bringing back some of the Roman style for the Imperials (that was so obvious in Morrowind, and so obviously missing in Oblivion.) And I especially like the way you've added it to their "finest" entertainment establishment.
Heck, I'd love to see the Imperial legionaires getting a more Roman inspired look too someday. If you ever get the inspiration to do anything like that, that is.
Cheers, UQF

there will be a smithy merchant in the arena , a new Imperial NPC.
there will be changes in the bloodwork interior as well, I want to add at least two gladiator that will train and I'd like to do a room in the Bloodwork that showcase all the armors.. and helmets.
@Forgotten
I love classical stuff and it's already been in my mind to do a roman armor. that is to be in the armors part I will do for the races.

Looks great, mhm, maybe the arena does get interesting.
Though it always bothered me.
"Spoiler!"
That after your the champion, you only get to fight beasts.
I really enjoy fighting one on one with some npc.
I mean, that's what gladiator games are about,
the duel, the dance of death in front of the crowd.
Maybe an idea to get challenges after being the grand champion once in a while?
"Spoiler! endeth here"
I was reading my game guide of Oblivion and found something interesting.
About the bandits who would have something, a signature, a mark on them showed which bandit "gang" they belonged to.
"Spoiler!"
When you enter some boat somewhere in the heartlands,
you get to meet some bandits, "Black Water Brigands" they are if I am not mistaken.
They have a sign on their leather chest armor.
It was not too clear, looked more like a patch stitched onto the leather armor.
Not something made by some famous smith, maybe an infamous one.
"End of Spoiler!"
So maybe for making bandit gangs, make leather armor with patches on it or something like that.
Not too official like "Kvatch Armor" just engraved in leather or steel.
I mean they are bandits after all, if they would be having money for having their custom armor to look like Kvatch's armor or such, they wouldn't have been bandits. Though it isn't that hard to come by, Kvatch armor, with all those dead bodies around...
Ah well, good luck with your digital smithing, I enjoy using the weapons. (Though the new reflexions you gave them, give some odd glow when in dark areas...) But that's just a minor detail I guess.
Keep on the good work, and sorry for my post of 90% nonsense and chatter.

Well other gangsigns could be a colored piece of cloth/bandage around the arm, cheaper and easier to identify.

That would prolly be more accurate too. Gang signs or insignia was used so that fellow gangmembers could ID one another discreetly and yet still be free from persecution by the law. Having prominent markings burnt into leather or etched into armor would be a bit too much of an ID. Think of the black bow bandits, with the capes or the bows. Rather subbdued.Mormacil wrote:Well other gangsigns could be a colored piece of cloth/bandage around the arm, cheaper and easier to identify.
Or like a real life gang from the wild west. Which used small ammo pellets marked with a small design that could be carried around without drawing attention.
And i dissapear to philly and you drop some sweet armor pics on me. I never could nab the comp at the hotel to check, so now im gonna have to play catch up here in the meantime. Great work like usual.
