Well, I couldn't resist playing her some over the past couple of nights, so was level 8 before she got the Clint. :celebrate:

Also the reflections looked very good to me. I'd say realistic but I've never used a real sword...

In terms of bugs, I did notice that the model for the Moonblade was missing, and that caused a big yellow exclamation point to show up in the Smithy. I assume that it isn't finished yet, but thought I would mention it just in case.

ah yeah..I seem to have forgotten the Legend folder.

will post a small fix later on.

(it's the MoonBrand by the way) MoonBrand was the favorite sword of late Ewart Oakeshott, and authority on Medieval Arms...

I really like the idea of "Legendary" racial weapons. The Moonbrand looks very cool and that site is very interesting.

there will be two kind of Legendary swords, the races ones, and the general legends

General Legendary swords can be wield with the bonus by any races, as long as their skill is high enough.

Races Legendary bonus can only be added if your race fit the weapon.

but the real difference with the general and races ones, is that the races ones won't be skill restricted they are race restricted. ie: only a breton can use MoonBrand. (the Monnbrand script isn't made to apply this yet, but it's the plan).

It sounds quite cool, but I don't really like that no other races can use the legendary race blades.
I mean, there should at least be a possibility for other races to use it.
Like the Bearded Breton race, but also the different races.
Though I can imagine a blade so tuned to one race can get quite unhandy in the hands of another race.
Why not add a script that makes the blade less effective when not wielded by the race itself?

Ah well, I look forward to the release though. And my compliments on the bows, I have started a new character. (A Evil Dunmer, reincarnated in a Dremora and satisfying herself in the art of war. And no, this one does not always take all the clothing off a dead corpse. What does a lady of war want with filthy fur? She prefers Iron. Though she doesn't buy it at the store, why buy in it a store when you can gain it in a fair fight? =) "
She often uses a bow for "the Hunt" and they look great. :)

I like the concept of race restriction, but a nice compromise might be to allow characters with a high enough Mysticism score to overcome the restriction. It would have to be a high score, maybe 70+, and a skill that not everyone has a lot of (hence, Mysticism), to make it challenging to meet the requirement.

Hey Waalx,

I downloaded the mod to take a gander. Nice stuff! Your selection of what blades to use is awesome, and some of my favorite Albions make an appearance, too.

I did find a few things, since you asked us to search for problems. The music in the smithy seems to be set to dungeon. Kinda creepy, unless it’s supposed to be intentional? Also, I noticed fire coming out of the chimney outside. Heh, must be one HELL of a fire going in there so more than just smoke comes out up there! Just looked a little odd…

The smith’s name should probably be Jeremy Breon instead of JeremyBreon. The wife has a sell option and among the things to buy is her “fat dress” or whatnot, and it has no icon. Do you mean for that to be for sale? May want to limit what she can sell.

The steel reflections seemed a little jarring to me, personally. Heh, you know me! I tend to enjoy things that don’t deviate much from the game world they’re in, even if said world is bland and textureless. Maybe my card needs a new driver, but there were some weird reflections going on with some of the blades, and it looked more akin to the Morrowind-era enchanted-weapon saran wrap look than real steel. I think it was the Tritonia that, when taken outside, was absolutely blinding and looked almost completely white.

But, don’t let me deter you from the reflections—I applaud the advances! Me, whenever I sneak a chance to play, my current weapon of choice is the Seaward from your Bosmer mod. I’ve been meaning to give you more props on it, but haven’t done so yet. I LOVE that sword!

well me personally I find that the race restriction is quite cool. Being any races in the game hardly matter in what choices you have usually. this make a restriction.

ah! so you're a Breton and would like to use the Subotai that is the Dunmer legendary? good luck my lad! these blade are magical and they recognize your bloodline and will accept only their own. I don't want to give a turn-around way to use them. it's a restriction. it should restrict you. utterly and completely. :-D-)

it will be for only 10 blades anyway. on the lot I do I think it's no big deal ;) it's like if you try to use the blade of the ghosts in the game and you cant.

Elhazan..try to answer what bugs..

music..yeah mine is turned off and I shall arrange this and set it to public instead..

the fire outside is a joke, but there is a problem it's not on the forge chimney but on the cooking fire one, so I need to change it (I forget). but it look cool when you approach the house at night. (I think)

Jeremy name is a typing mistake I shall arrange. Gita will sell a dress to you with an icon if you're a girl only, and she sell the fat Blacksmith costume to you with an icon only if you're a guy. call me sexist, sexy sexist :P

the steel reflection is not finished (that's why it's an Alpha), and some blades are squarely not adjusted at all.. like the Tritonia that I imported in the game last.

but it shouldn't be absolutely blinding, unless in very direct sunlight, maybe your monitor is too bright.

that metall reflection is a WIP. it's still not what I want. and it's hard to do because each blade usually is a special case.

Jody still sell the Seaward by the way...;)

Had a (very) brief look at the swords. Small nitpick about the Crown Falshion and Ranger Falshion meshes. ;)

There is a little gap between the hilt and the guard that is partly visible, mostly in 1st person.

Nifskope screenshot of the Ranger Falshion, with gap circled:

ah huh yeah huh?

hehe

ok I will try and trick that with a double side polygon property..could save me the 'pain' of having to reexport the models, and could also do a cool effect. lets see.

another thing I knew I had to do, but forgot to fix.

thanks

I added a NiStencilProperty myself to the guard and the gap was hardly visible anymore. ;)

You might also consider moving the sword up a tiny bit as the guard is very close to the hand when drawn.

Rather nice looking knife. Maybe you could use it somewhere for something.

It is a nice looking knife. Could be elven or Khajiit. Or Argonian. to bad Waalx already did those. I think it just fits better for an exotic race then a human.

But it's a good find ;)

Yeah, I see those knives alot.

So far I'm doing good with the Breton module. It fits nicely, and I did notice the problems other people had, but you seem to have fixed those.
Its quite fun to fight Frost Giants with the Solingen. lol.
But mostly I stick to the Long knife in the Redguard module for my Barbarian/Assassin characters.
And Seaward as well. Though it is a little underpowered, so I made a custom enchanted one with a quest in-game.
