maybe you can add an optional (.ESP) for a side story of being captured as a gladiator? I like the sword, my preferences seem to be daggers or really big zweihanders

It's a pally thing, you wouldn't understand.

yes Gladiator should be the next release, unless it's taking too long, in which case I will finish another race before..
but it's Gladiator I'm working on now.
Trippin.. as I said elsewhere, the longer it take to make a race, the better it is, and so the further a race is in my pre-determined release order, the better treatment this race will get, because It will be the cherry on the cake. the last touch, the one I will be able to apply everything I learned and practiced while doing the previous ones.
that being said...
the information about the release order of the remaining modules can be found here on this forum..you have to search though, as it's not explicit that it is the order in which race will be out. you have to guess.
But in some sense it's very clear and obvious...if you see it like I do.
at one point, I had to decide the release order..and I did.

so to continue to honor this thread that is supposed to be a gallery! here's a detail shot of the Champion Cleaver. The legendary blades, are for most of them, swords I will permit myself to add a lot more modeling detailing. as such this blade here is weighting 5k in polys, whereas usually I model the blades and weapons as meshes well under 2k, and sometimes under 1k as well, as Realswords is meant to put hundreds of new weapons in-the game, I can't make only high res meshes, I have to go with a medium resolution solution.
For this blade, it could go as high as 7k, because I intend to model the scabbard it has on the references, and stay very close to being physically accurate. as I did for the blade. (and that scabbard look very cool and a lot of details are there, even if it's not ornate.)
the last shot is only partly textured, I haven't done the metal parts yet, and the painting of the grip texture is not final either..but close.

update on the Champion cleaver..
I really went overboard detailing this one...
nearly a 10k sword. but no smoothing! and the scabbard details are on both side of it now..I might keep the detail and just delete the details that will hardly never show on the backside of the scabbard.
If I remove the sewing, on the top side and underneath, and the studs underneath but keeping the top ones, then the sword and scabbard weight less than 7k. (my initial objective was 7k).

If I just keep the details on the top (sewing and studs), I have 7,9k mesh. this is the most probable solution. (because I like the sewing on the scabbard).

But a bumpmap will do the sewing just fine I think...

not quite the same.
a physical form vs a mapped bump
the mapped bump will not always show, whereas the physical form will, even from a far view.
I only work economically since the start of the project..don't you think I know that a bump could do the job?
but it wouldn't be the same..

Considering that most people run oblivion at a resolution under 3600x#### I don't think you would notice the difference. Those little dots on the pommel could even be achieved just in the texture and have the same result. Now don't get me wrong, it looks stunning, but the game will be rendering graphics that won't be seen, and it will make the fight with agronak (for most people) be around 5FPS.

nah. the studs on the cross guard and pommel would never have the same effect with a bump, nor the sewing...
similar effect? yes. same? no. not at all..
look:

look:
the clear look of the sheat detailing is due to modelling. if it was a texture it would never look like this..
ah and by the way now the whole weight 7.6k

Any chance on a lower poly version? If no any more reason to quickly kill the bastard and dump the sword in a chest

alright
here is them result. Sword is the same in both except the grip that lost it's details. The scabbard have been severely reduced for the low res.
notice that with the texture in openGL (third image) we loose the better form of the higher mesh. in the game though we would see a difference. the bigger mesh would of course appear better. like on the render (fourth image).
I finally agree that the sewing was maybe too much, so I made it into the texture. Doesn't look as precise as it was when modeled, but still does the job...maybe I will put them back on the high res, but then I would need another texture.. so maybe (probably) not.

I agree the grip does not look as good but I'm willing to sacrifice it to be able to use the blade. Just include 2 versions of the sword and you make us all happy

Oh, shiny
I like your idea, as long as we can still use other weapons as well

of course..
it's just something he will give you when you will go up in rank...
you will be free to use them or not...anyway they will not be valuable..
