bah... not much activity in this place lately. Guess I'm keeping all the stuff to meself and showing none ter ye'all?

Aye captain!

I do hide stuff, obscure and unseen, so that they may come as a bit o' surprise ter ye, gentle folks.

I'm working on a pretty cool thing now, something that many have asked me about from times to times, and I thought that it was probably time to make some of that. you'll see what
@ Forgotten

yes of course I thought of Khajiit and Argonian zombies, but that is a bit harder as their skin have a pattern, and it doesn't fit the zombie mutilated texture. that would need 2 new textures, and a long uv rework. Not now.

@lhammond

hola! what do you mean by a messed up hair texture for zombie? because Oblivion Zombie texture was messed up in the game?

@Darkwind.

Yes. WAC is now the master of the clothing as well. I found out working on the mod (WAC), that I need to have access to my new clothes and armors, so last week I dumped all the data of WW&WW into the WAC .esm, and rebuilt the changes that WW&WW did to robes and armors in a new esp, now dependent of Waalx Animals & Creatures.esm.

there won't be an independent version for the clothes and armors aka WW&WW anymore. That is dead. it's all in the big thing now, although you can choose to run it or not depending on what thou want.

and that bring me to the next step into this announcement.

As I'm touching more and more stuff with WAC, there come a time when you see it and think. Hey what the hell! I now have touched too much stuff in the game in separate stuff, and in doing so I will invalidate some of my own mods with my own mods. Not really cool.

That ask for a drastic change of plan. Realswords, Gladiators, H.U.T., WW&WW, and WAC. Already I have some incompatibilities in my own work! So...

WAC may be bound to be re-named WOO (Waalx Oblivion Overhaul), or WOR (Waalx Oblivion Revisited) later-on. That's something that is now a lot of work just to rename all the stuff to make it fit a new nomenclature. A very crappy job ter do!

RealSwords. dev_akm already made a rebalanced MOBS version that is now included in FCOM, and that feature new previously unreleased retexture of most of the weapons in what I code-named RealSwords - Undead. The work dev did will be the base of the next RealSwords gen, but meanwhile, I do have a need to include my weapons in my overhaul mod, otherwise it's just stupid.

So what I'm thinking is that to ensure that what I work on will all be compatible, I need to make a big package deal with all the stuff. RealSwords and subsequent releases will be updated/made in less that it was. In future releases, there won't be NPC versions. that will be taken care of by WAC (or WOO). so the RS mods will only be merchants (new ones), in case where you want to just get the weapons.

That also mean the everything else will also get this treatment, with the exception of unreleased stuff that will not come out in separate pack. I will keep doing RealSwords modules for races just to finish the thing, but everything else will be driven by WAC. (Gladiator, H.U.T., Wizard & Warrior Wares).

Great stuff Waalx, looks like I'll have to make some changes to my mod list when this is done and downloadable, it's going to take a while to get everything organized into the right folders.
It's a pally thing, you wouldn't understand.

Man I've just skimmed through this entire thread and the amount of content going into this is mind-boggling.

So just let me get this straight, we've got creatures, animals, camps, this "hunter" faction thing with the armor, an 8th Oblivion plane (Not even of Mehrunes Dagon, with its own goals and quests apparently), the ability to "hire" these creatures as pets, camps for both ally and enemy, new potions and poisons, as well as numerous gibbets, fortifications and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I don't know about.

I mean this as a compliment but damn it's like we'll never get our hands on it because it just keeps getting bigger and bigger!

I have a whole crapload of questions big and small, but you don't have to answer them.

1. How much more content do you plan on adding to WAC? When will it finally be turned over for a true technical test followed by release? Or will you continue to add to it after release and forever more?

2. Do you plan to merge your earlier projects with WAC given the monster it's become? Or plan to finish them at all?

3. What exactly is this "Hunter" camp? I know it stemmed from the armor and you intend it to be the main focus point of WAC, but what exactly does that mean? Is this an entirely new faction, or an entirely new GAME? To my understanding this mod was originally simply meant to diversify the creatures of Oblivion. What goals will the player have beyond just having the ability to interact with all these new creatures?

4. You mentioned WW&WW as being the beginning of a much larger armor revamp. Do you plan on doing future armors in the same way as WW&WW, by altering and diversifying the existing armor? Or will it be simpler, or perhaps even more complicated, adding NEW armors?

5. Exactly how much content do you plan on adding to WW&WW? After the redesign of the basic robes we've seen dark robes, new NPC types and now battlemage armors, and not just that but two different kinds of battlemage armors to my understanding (War and Battle, for each discipline as well!).

6. Do you still plan to have WW&WW released before WAC?

7. Will WAC implement the Realswords Goblin weapons to the new (and old) goblin creatures?

8. With that Ebony Armor redesign picture I saw earlier, what is that a part of? Part of the future armor revamp? Was it a new armor, or a conversion of the existing Ebony Armor (I wouldn't mind if this was true, I think all of the stock armors could use a change to a more realistic look).

9. In regards to the "Mother Sword" I saw, is that something intended to eventually be part of Realswords? Or perhaps another project? Or was it entirely independent?

10. Surely all this content will require new dialogue. Do you plan to add any voice acting?

Hi Waalx and everyone else,

Hope everything is fine with you...I am traking down the WAC project...and checking on the status of this.
Not that I want to push or put pressure on your shoulders...Obviously it will be done when it's done...

Earlier in this thread you were talking about an alpha version...well has this alpha version been released yet? In other words have I missed something?

Do you have any timing (sorry for the word) but I am as everyone else very exiting about your more than fine work. The Realsword series are work of a pro (I can't play Oblivion without those). This WAC things is amazingly interesting to me so I am very eager to put my hands on it...

In any case I salute your terrific work and pray for a release soon...

Thanks for reading...

Waalx has not yet released an alpha of W.A.C to the general public yet, he'll announce when he does, and it'll be in the downloads section.

1. The thing's always growing, so I can't answer that. I could go on for years.. :) but I will stop soon and release something. Just that the last idea is too cool.

2. yes. everything should be driven by the same plug, in the end.

3. Hunter camp was what made me go and start to create more animals and creatures. It's not something that is really important in WAC however. Nothing's going on with them at the moment as I'm no quest-maker. ( i have the ideas, but not the ability). In fact they are not even part of the WAC master as I didn't touch back on them in month. So they won't be part of the Alpha me think.

4-5. So far many armors are done although many are still in need of being updated. I will post more later about that.

6. nope

7. Yep the goblin weapons are in, in fact they were made especially for WAC gobs.

8. that ebony armor is my replacement to the vanilla ebony armor. The vanilla one won't disappear entirely, but will be much rarer than now. It's my personal opinion that the vanilla ebony is too rich looking for common folks, so this is my remedy. The vanilla one will appear much less and only characters that could afford such elaborate armor. The rest get the raw ebony one I did. The problem I have with this though is that the vanilla ebony weapon won't fit with this dark one..

9. The mother Sword, The Master Sword, and Atlantean are kind of side things to the RealSwords modules, but I probably will include them hidden in the world somewhere in the end, as unique weapons most likely.

10. not in my original plan. And as of now I can think of only a few things where I would need new voices. I did many new sound FX for the beasts though..
Mormacil wrote:About Wood Witches, are they related to Wood Elves? Judging on the eyes they are...
Wood Witches.. actually I made them as something of an echo to Prince Nuata in the movie Hellboy 2, one of the greatest character I have see on screen in a long time. But they are not the same, and yeah with the rather very dark eyes, they can remind you of Morrowind Bosmers (that I liked a lot more). From where them really hail from, its yer guess.

just keep breathing, but it's going strong!

(thanks for posting!) ;)

And lastly, this is what I've been working on this week.

More props for belts and stuff, I went far deeper than I did with the mage gears. This will provide plenty of belts props that are all different, low res, and all work on a very small texture as they will not be seen up-close (except for the back-pack..I need to see how it look in-game and if I have to create a bigger map for it). Otherwise it should provide the visual variety in belts gears that I was after. With a few different colors from the 128 pixel texture map (it's the size of an icon!), I get hundreds of possibility with the 50 or so models shown here.
Image

Second image show even more of the daggers, but those are mapped to the mage gears texture. Again many variations possibles with those and the 8 mage gears colors texture I have.

And an example on color variations of the 'iconprops', here in gold and red leather with studs.

Image

So..I know what you're going to say. 'Man! some of those need to be playable!' Yep indeed I made some quite cool design on that (I think), and I want to recreate them in higher resolution later.

Contrary to my self-inflicted RealSwords rule that I do only real/existing blades design, theses are all from me. :)
Strongly influenced by Jody Samson style - a cornerstone of RealSwords that inevitably got to me, my love for Viking type is very evident here too. Top that with an Hyborian feel, and this is what I get you. And many jeweled daggers that I find quite fitting in fantasy set-up ( I hate jeweled swords, but daggers I like).

that's it!

bye!

Hyborian, Conan, Viking all are really good mate. Just don't loose the high culture, tropical, roman design of Cyrodiil and I love you to the death. The daggers look awesome. Do want, lots.

Thanks for answering my questions, and I love the belt do-dads. Some of the gold daggers look almost... Egyptian.
