Could set up some in the same areas as goblins too, causing them to have a nice quarrel and whatnot. easy picking for the adventurer who knows what to do to get stuff from both.
Although hyenas do live in plain areas in our world, those Gnolls aren't hyenas, they are evolved hyenas. They do have camps as the goblins, (well one so far).
Mormacil wrote:I suggest Valenwood or Skyrim

that's not a good one
I want the Gnolls everywhere on the map. But, they are probably from Hammerfell as the Hyenas are from there too?
Strongbow wrote:The feat look do better in the 2nd screen .Probably because of the colors.I love the choices of those.
What plans do you have for their statistics?
stats will be around the ones of powerful Goblins. Lesser Gnoll has the power of a Skirmisher goblin.

don't worry I know how it
should look. If i made it that way it was a decision on my own. Same as I know how a Smurf should look, but I did not exactly do them gentle and baby-cute. Now it remains to be seen if I will redo their feet to a more classical looking way. And as you are all crying about it..

probably will redo.
Forgotten wrote:The gnolls look great! Forgive me if I missed anything (I admit I've just been skimming through the last few pages to catch up with the discussion) but are the gnolls going to have their own set of weapons as well or will they just use the goblin weapons for now?
Now they use goblin stuff. I need to see. Of course specific weapons to them would be cool. They will be ferocious hand to hand fighters too.
Oh, and apologies for not really having much time for playtesting v0.04 at the moment.
no problemo, and good luck with your new system.. Man am I overdue to change mine as well!!
Griffonite wrote:Are they going to have their own primitive architecture or some form or architecture in the game?
the Goblins don't even have that! (architecture). Well except from camps. Let's start with weapons. They will have camps as the goblin do though. Gnoll Meeting place is the first one, there are no goblin there no more, only Gnolls. So the logic is to have other place for them if they 'meet' in Gnoll Meeting Camp. If I do make something new for them ( and I should) it should be very rustic.
Shadowcran wrote:Well, often gnolls make excellent henchmen for leader type NPC's.
this gave me an idea. I have been toying with the idea of evil NPC and evil players since a while. So far the only thing I already implemented in WAC toward this is the Bandit chief helm that give you the bandit faction if you wear it.
Yet I was thinking of doing something to take the player infamy into account. The most infamous you are, the less chances you'd have to find other sentient that are
willing to fight you. And it would be natural. If you are a famous (here infamous) bad-ass in the empire, the bandits and other intelligent life forms would come to know it.
infamous mean famous, but no bandit knows? If you are meanest than a bandit, and reputed to be an infamous dog, a bandit wouldn't want to fight you, he should know better, and maybe even flee from you. or offer to serve you..
So Gnolls, while maybe not being the most intelligent of all, could be like this as well. If you are very mean, you could hire a Gnoll or two to follow you and help.
"East of Cyrodiil, in the parts of the map marked as "here, there be monsters", the gnolls flourished with little competition as to resources. However, A long drought, coupled with a volcanic explosion drove them to seek better climes. Seeing the rich resources of Cyrodiil, the gnolls saw their chance for a revival of their dominance. Now seeking a place in this new world, they are trying to learn to adapt to new foes, new glory, and new riches. Much reduced in number due to the drought, the gnolls have to change their tactics and their livelihood."
east of Cyrodiil meaning what here? Morrowind or Black Marsh? Anyway I want them more to be local to the place than from a specific other region like most beast of WAC. I will place them around the map, instead of in one corner only.
What I meant when I said I don't know where they are from yet... is where are they on the map. the Red Gnolls turned red because of something in their area, maybe from Elsweir. The brown adapted to theirs also, the beige are the closest to hyena so they are near hammerfel. The white albinos would have migrated to the cold. The black could have come in contact with beasts from Vallenwood like black panther and white tigers. That's what I have yet to see..
Yesterday I remade all the hanging gibbets so they are now animated, the cages and hanged corpses now sway a bit. And I remade the collision for those too, wood is wood, and flesh is flesh. And a new texture for the nails so no problem with that anymore. And I made a couple more variations too.
