Yeah i know that ENB, i used it for a while last year. But i do not think that it is wise to use it together with Summer Skyrim 3 / Summer Skies / RLO and Imaginator. I have a feeling that would bring to much colour to the game...even for my taste. But it is really good indeed, and while using it i did not notice any loss of FPS. ( At least as far as i could tell at that time. )

I found something today that you probably already know, but it's an ini tweak to help with script overload if using several mods that are script heavy, especially combat mods. I sometimes find that just when I'm about to engage melee combat in particular, the game pauses or stutters which sometimes results in me dying when it recovers. Whether this is to do with scripts in my game I'm not sure, but as I use SkyRe along with a number of other heavily scripted mods, it's quite possible. The replies on this page are positive about it so it has to help in some way if not fix the issue.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/articles/1153//?
There's also another ini tweak I had been searching for to improve arrow aim and flight. Also for bolts if using crossbows.
At the time of typing this I haven't actually played the game to see if it changes anything but am about to. I thought I'd post them even if everyone already knows. I'll be happy if it does help my game so I can keep all these mods I can't play without....
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/articles/1153//?
Code: Select all
Decreasing Script Lag - The scripting language used in Skyrim, Papyrus, is not the speediest of languages. Script queues can become lagged, and even halted, in a game using script-heavy mods. Using this tweak in my game even seemed to fix the lip synch problem that reared its ugly head again in the 1.9 update for Skyrim.
In Skyrim.ini add/edit:
[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=800
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=512
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2457600
Code: Select all
Better Aiming - These tweaks will help improve aim and range with bows and crossbows.
Add/edit in Skyrim.ini:
[Combat]
fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0
fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0
f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
f1PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7
f3PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7
[Actor]
fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=12288.0000

Yeah i have been using both of those tweaks for some time now, and i get the feeling that the script lag edit does lessen it but completely. And the arrow aim tweak...well it could be my imagination, but i do seem to be able to hit better and further then with out them.

I knew about the combat tweak before but never bothered to add it until recently when I noticed arrows not reaching their target or falling to the ground sometimes. The script tweak is something I wouldn't have thought to look for though and after playing last night with it I'm pretty sure it has made a big difference.Fessels wrote:Yeah i have been using both of those tweaks for some time now, and i get the feeling that the script lag edit does lessen it but completely. I don't fast travel that often and even less now with MT and the other assorted enemies that spawn when you arrive, but I did FT to Dawnstar to get rid of a minor quest that had been hanging around for ages. On arrival I faced a Darkwing Dragon, two Gibbering idiots who transformed to werebears and are very tough at level 54, Elite Vigilants AND Cultists. They were just the the ones I noticed in the confusion. Plus the Khajiit caravans were there as well as the Dawnstar guards and citizens, so fighting and avoiding friends was a bit of a trial. I wish I had thought to take a screenshot.
Considering all the action and spells flying it all went well, whereas sometimes with big fights like that my game crashes. Not often, but I always expect it to especially with scripted people transforming to beasts, a heap of NPC's and a massive dragon spraying everything with fireballs and lava.
This was on the way from the ship back to Dragons Bridge for the Meresis mod which so far has been amazing. I'm in the mansion at the moment. The voice acting is the best I've heard in a mod and better than Bethesda's in many cases. The fellow who does Pelagius III should have done Cicero and sounds more convincing as a madman IMHO. He sounds more naturally mad whereas Cicero sounds forced and ridiculous to me.

In a hectic fight like that it is only normal not to take a screenshot or two. You and your followers are to busy to stay alive. As for the scripted people and such...yeah i think that is a problem every one who uses mods will face sooner or later.Maigrets wrote:I don't fast travel that often and even less now with MT and the other assorted enemies that spawn when you arrive, but I did FT to Dawnstar to get rid of a minor quest that had been hanging around for ages. But personally i have not been in the best of moods since yesterday afternoon. Some how malware got right through my security, and i was able to clean it. But even after scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-malware and Comodo Anti Virus i could not be certain that nothing else was left behind that can not be detected by both programs. So i restored my system but that backup only hat Skyrrim installed with the DLC's and no mods, so i lost my entire game from Nydaoni. I am not really in the mood to restart her yet again, so i will start thinking about another character. Although i know very well that we can not protect our computers for 100%, i have tightened my security today so hopefully it will now be at least extremely difficult for something to get through.

Lol...I've done it before though. I usually wait until everyone is in a good position then stop it all with tfc 1. It also helps to make sure I'm not in a position to get hit when I start the action up again.In a hectic fight like that it is only normal not to take a screenshot or two. I had to stop playing last night because I got stuck on the scene in the ruined city where you keep running towards the door and it keeps moving away. I eventually read through the comments to find out how to pass it. Boy, do I feel stupid for not even thinking about running backwards.See i told you so, good to see you like it as well.
I get an Indiana Jones feel in the old city.... It's so well done and so beautiful. Reminds me of South American ruins..Aztecs or Incas for example.
I can only imagine how you feel after that. It seems like Nydaoni is being toyed with by the Eight.But personally i have not been in the best of moods since yesterday afternoon. I consider myself lucky as far as malware goes since I only use Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. I haven't had any problems for at least a couple of years and I use NoScript and AddBlock for Firefox as well.
It's been said before by many, but people who write this "garbage ware" need to be drawn and quartered and never have access to a computer again. I guess it also helps to have no conscience.

Yeah it can be done that is for sure. LoL i was stuck at that point as well, went through that door around ten times before i started digging for a possible solution.Maigrets wrote:I had to stop playing last night because I got stuck on the scene in the ruined city where you keep running towards the door and it keeps moving away. I like how the author added those enemies, i did not expect them at first...and the locked doors riddle is well made as well.Maigrets wrote:I get an Indiana Jones feel in the old city.... It's so well done and so beautiful. Reminds me of South American ruins..Aztecs or Incas for example.
Well i now use the latest version of Comodo Internet Security, and of course Malwarebytes and Spyware Blaster. Also i use Google Chrome with Adblock, Chrome now gets cookie and script protection from Spyware Blaster. And i installed Microsofts EMET v3.0. The odd thing was that i got infected on a news page that i frequently visit. After the infection i warned that site of what hat happened, and after they hat investigated it, they found out that some how some one hat placed a photo that hat the Trojan. ( They said it was a Trojan, but that does not matter, an infection is an infection. )Maigrets wrote:I can only imagine how you feel after that. Yes it can happen on any site unfortunately. That's why I refuse to disable AdBlock and NoScript on the Nexus, or any site for that matter. I know the Nexus needs funds from Ads but I don't need malware and they have been infected a number of times. Besides it's barely usable a lot of the time these past few months, and weekends are so terrible that I've started to not bother to continue trying as I'm sick of the gateway errors and connection resets.Well i now use the latest version of Comodo Internet Security, and of course Malwarebytes and Spyware Blaster. Current Load Order. I'm waiting for the new Immersive Creatures but I think I'll have to strat with the current one and update it when it's released. After spending a couple of hours rearranging my mods I want to see if the game actually runs..., and make my character.
I ended up removing Warburg's 3D Paper map. I like it but it's hard on my eyes... Forgot to add Falskaar after all that but it can wait 'til I get out of character creation.

I have to get this off my chest because this crap just pisses me off. What I have to say below applies not only to the mod I'm talking about, but also to others like it.
Sad, sad indeed. I've just been reading the comments on Falskaar and the ignorance of some people never ceases to amaze me. World building, scripting, quest making, NPC routines, new books and storyline etc, etc are things I tried in Oblivion and they gave me more headaches than I care to remember....and I only made small stuff, (tried and unreleased) not an entire DLC sized mod. Yet all this was done by one person over a long span of time.
The main complaint seems to be that there's no "custom" content, as in fancy new armour, weapons and new stuff to kill and that the world looks just like Skyrim. Let's not forget the Alexander did this to try to get a job with Bethesda, using their own resources which is what they would want to see. It seems to me that he accomplished what he set out to do and I for one hope he gets his wish.
Since I've just started a new character I haven't yet started to play it but I'm looking forward to it. In fact I'll probably go straight there soon as I decide for sure what class my character will actually end up being....I change my mind frequently even after planning beforehand.... Falskaar doesn't have special level requirements and will play like Skyrim itself. Being in it's own world space means less chance of incompatibility with the Skyrim world...as there are with Dawnguard and some other quest mods.
All in all I'd rather have a new competently built world space with new and interesting quests in a world that is still essentially the land of the Nords, (just in another self contained area,) than more things to kill and ways to do it. It's a welcome change from the next big jiggly boobs and "schlongs" mods and the competition to see who can make the skimpiest gear....male and female.
I'm glad to see Falskaar is getting the attention it deserves though despite the uninformed opinions of people who have no idea what something of this scope entails. One can be a critic without being an expert or even an apprentice in any given field, however "real" critics also know what they are talking about.

I share your feelings about that, i almost lashed out at some but in the end decided not to do so because it would not have ended well for one or more people. ( Me included. ) Alexander worked on Flaskaar for almost two years i believe, and finished something not many would want to...or hat so much patient for it. ( Well his drive is indeed to get a job at Bethesda. ) There was one person who hat a problem with the fact that Alexander picked Nords to inhabit Falskaar, because it was his least favourite race. Why is that fool playing Skyrim then i wonder, because it plays in the Homeland of the Nords and you will meet Nords every where? ( Yeah there are other races, but still. )
No matter how good a mod is, for many it is still not enough.

I started it tonight and I must say it's magnificent. Even the guards and other NPC's have different dialogue than in vanilla Skyrim. The voice acting is superb and I could listen to the bard in the Inn for ages. His voice is excellent and the songs, (and overall game music) are beautiful.
Reaching the end of the first dungeon was awesome. I went through a portal and was greeted with a great intro to the mod. It has it's own very detailed map and the island itself is huge, probably as big as Solstheim I ended up returning to Skyrim to level up a bit and because I haven't got my FUS RO DAH yet and I need it.... You can come and go from Falskaar to Skyrim by boat so it feels like part of the main game rather than a different disconnected world altogether.
Having said that I've now run into a bug with killing the first dragon at Whiterun. He doesn't give me his soul and the guards and Irileth are just cowering in a group by the tower after the fight and I can't speak to them. I've done it 3 times from before going to Whiterun and it's the same every time. Never had a bug with that quest or dragon souls before, so if I can't get it working I might have to start over which I suppose won't be a disaster. If I have to I'll do what I usually do and do that quest straight away instead of wandering off doing other things. I want it to work properly rather than use the console to progress it so there are no bugs down the line.

I hat already expected that Falskaar would be good.
As for the dragon not giving it soul, i hat that happen once as well and it turned out to be a mod that made absorbing dragon souls like in the first few bethesda trailers for Skyrim...be the cause of the problem for me. ( Although Irileth and the guards where not cowering in a group for me? ) That being said i remember seeing posts from people who where not using that mod i mentioned here, and they also hat problems with not being able to absorb dragon souls. Makes me think that it could be a vanilla bug of some sort?

I sorted it out as I mention in my screenshot thread. Not absorbing the soul tuned out to be because somehow the USKP got moved in my load order and I didn't notice. The really annoying part was the messed up AI all the way from Dragonsreach to the tower and that took awhile to figure out.Fessels wrote:I hat already expected that Falskaar would be good.

It turns out it's because of When Vampires Attack which doesn't seem to work properly anymore post 1.9 for a lot of people according to the comments, especially if you do that particular quest after level 10 when DG vampires are activated. The NPC's get stuck in the fleeing routine and won't come out of it.
I usually do it early so I never noticed it before.. Now I have the dragon body following me around..., but that's "normal" everyday in my Skyrim.
Anyway, I've moved on quite a bit now, and so far so good.

I have no wish to malign Arthmoor's mod, but from my investigations it seems to be the problem. People also say Whiterun seems to be most affected which is possibly because that's where most people head first of all so it's more noticeable.Fessels wrote:Hmm i have When Vampires attack installed as well, once i continue with Kail i will have to keep an eye on that one then?
I'm not actually blaming the mod so much as there may have been changes made in the 1.9 patch that cause it not to work. Like the facial animations and lip synch bug among others that were known when the patch was in Beta and not addressed. Yet.

I have no intention to malign Arthmoors work either, he is known to deliver quality mods. So i am certain that when he has the time, and if he can find out why it happens that he will find a solution for it.

Maigrets, I tried mentioning this to Arthmoor but of course he doesn't have much faith in nexus comments
Could you post your experience here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/143055 ... d-1/page-2 ?
I'm sure he can fix that if he gets some proper feedback

Thanks for your efforts but having just read through the Bethsoft thread I can't see any point in commenting there. If I commented, with a good description of what's happening on Nexus it seems I would be ignored as ignorant no matter what because it's "Nexus" and to be taken with a grain of salt, apparently.Gekko64 wrote:Maigrets, I tried mentioning this to Arthmoor but of course he doesn't have much faith in nexus comments
Could you post your experience here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/143055 ... d-1/page-2 ?
I'm sure he can fix that if he gets some proper feedback
So I don't think I'll bother posting on the Beth forums either where I would more than likely be shot down in flames for not knowing what I'm talking about. I've already seen the responses in that thread.
Thanks anyway, but I fixed my game to my satisfaction.
Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it sayingEnd Of The World Switch PLEASE DO NOT TOUCHthe paint wouldn't even have time to dry. Terry Pratchett

Yeah there will always be people who are so * begin sarcasm * brilliant * end sarcasm * that they do not see how stupid they actually are.
