LoL That is spread over a lot of different characters, and many did not reach the end of the game....but you could be right.

I used to play in offline mode in the past, but besides MW / OB and Skyrim i also have Left 4 Dead 2 on steam, and for me personally that game does not work well unless i play in online mode. So i will think about it. Once i do i will let you know my steam user name, so you will know it is me. ( Although i have my steamID in my Bethesda User Profile...Beth Forum user name is Illius )

EDIT: Never mind i send a Friendship invitation to you...my steam Username is as you will see nearly the same as on the Bethesda Forums.

I always play offline though and rarely go online unless I have to for some reason so I don't know if we would ever connect. My name is the same as here anyway. next time I go online, if I remember, I'll add an invitation.

The Wither "Wild Hunt" is coming too...It is said that the game is a true open world this time around. The story takes place in a immersive world 1,5 time bigger than Skyrim. I predict Skyrim will go to the storage room once the Witcher is out...

I've watched a couple of trailers for Witcher 3 and to say it looks magnificent is an understatement. I have my doubts that I'll be able to play it without serious upgrades, but who knows what's in the future.

I think the time is soon coming where Bethesda don't hold the monopoly on open world games and they will have to do better, especially in the writing and quest department. And they need to seriously get rid of the awful, ancient engine they still use. Another thing as well is that CD Projekt Red are not afraid to have adult concepts in their games that Bethesda are so afraid of, which will appeal to many people, myself included. I don't mean only sexual content but also more mature storylines and meaningful interaction.

There's another open world game coming as well but I can't remember what it is or where I saw it.

Agreed ++. This is part of the monopoly on open world games that I mentioned. They have never really had competition in the area so if people want to play these type of games the only choice really is Bethesda games, bugs included.

A lot of people keep saying that problems only occur when one uses mods and may be true of players who don't know what they are doing, but for the rest of us, it's quite untrue. The vanilla game is still buggy and I would have been even more angry if I had a console and has to use one of those versions since there's no USKP to the rescue. Heck, the USKP team are still working on bugs as evidenced by the latest release and long changelog.

After my Skyrim experiences I'm pretty sure I won't be rushing to buy the next game as I have the others on release day. By the time TES6 is released there may very well be other open world games to rival them.

Some of the blame has to go to the lawyers and "money" men, but in my opinion when a company signs a contract

to do certain things, like the DLC releases for consoles first deal with MS and set date releases, they only have themselves to blame. The competition to be top dog AAA developers and to make as much cash as possible despite knowing the product is, in some cases very faulty, is inexcusable. Not to mention patches that make things even worse...AKA backward flying dragons etc.

Another thing that gets me is the apologists who say "it's a huge game" there are bound to be issues which is true, but that's also on the developers. They chose to create it, so they are responsible for making sure it works out of the box or with as few "working" patches as necessary. And not abandon the support when there are still problems, ie the 1.9 patch, which as far as I'm concerned is bad business practice.

Games being what they are and having to support many different PC configs has always been imperfect, but most, not all, but most companies at least patch their games properly or they used to before money became the biggest concern before customers. I have no time for their excuses when I'm paying for a product I don't really own and have to play through a 3rd party platform. I don't really have anything against STEAM, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Trouble is people have short memories and you can bet many of the complainers about the previous games, especially Skyrim in my case, will be lining up for the next. Not me though. My memory is fine.

I full heartily agree with you. I sincerely hope competition on medieval open world game will be up to the task and that choice will emerge at the time of the Elderscroll 6 release. Buggy games should not be the standard unfortunately is as been since Morrowind. It was acceptable for pioneer game like Morrowind, but already unforgivable with Oblivion. Skyrim should have been bug free and if not the 1.9 Patch should have been definitive and available on the very first week of game release.
Bethesda is lucky there was no competition to rival them, but "winter is coming"

Oblivion wasn't so bad in some ways. As a base game it was awful, but even heavily modded it was, and still is great. You can add and remove mods without problems, or very few at least. Among other things, it's easier to fix issues with OB if you research and use common sense and I never had ONE corrupt save in all the years I played and over many characters.

One of the main things I believe is Morrowind and Oblivion were made for the PC and sent to console later, where Skyrim was coded for consoles primarily which left the PC in the dark and having to catch up and still isn't ideal. I've had so many corrupt saves it's depressing, and I know what I'm doing re mods and how to use them.

Skyrim should have been bug free and if not the 1.9 Patch should have been definitive and available on the very first week of game release.

The 1.9 patch itself has left the game buggy and will never be fixed. I had very few issues with the 1.8 patch but of course we can't revert as we could in the "old" days of downloadable patches we could install as we needed and not forced on us.

Bethesda could take some lessons from some very small developers. I very much enjoyed the Gothic series and even Two Worlds 1&2. These games are huge and have a few issues, but I never, ever had crashes or problems with them that forced me to start over. I will more than likely play them again which is more than I can say for Skyrim once I finally decide I've had enough.
