For those of us whose PC's need a little extra help because we want a modded game.., this mod may help with the Rift area and the falling leaves animations which eat up a lot of CPU power. Those little falling leaves are each 512x512 which for something I don't really notice or care about is a bit of overkill, not to mention the spinning animations.
Also has options for snow storms and pine needles. I have more drops in fps in the Rift area so this can only help. I only just found it and haven't tried it yet but it's only textures anyway.

I have been using that one for so long that i never thought about posting it here. It does help in my opinion, but any one who wants to use it... do not expect to gain 30 FPS after installing it.

In case you haven't checked recently all of the Unofficial patches have recently been updated (USKP todayand others at end of October) Oops..I read the wrong date for USKP.)and are now esps flagged as esm's meaning a different load order so make sure to run BOSS or follow the load order on the mod's comment page.
Info about the conversion here as Nexus is on maintenance at the moment.
http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php ... onversion/
Conversion to esm fixes some game engine bugs and helps prevent CTD's in some areas...and a lot more.
Also make sure to update all patches at the same time or dire things may happen.
EDIT:
Make sure to update Wrye Bash to 304.2 otherwise there will be problems recognizing the new format. It says BETA on the Bash page but Arthmoor says it shouldn't be listed as such now and is final.

Yeah just before i started with Maiev i installed the new versions of those patches, and although i have Wrye Bash 304 i am not entirely certain it is version 304.2. Still looking at my loadlist the patches got loaded by BOSS right smack where Arthmoor suggested they should be.
But i still find it odd that they are ESP files that work and get sorted with the ESM files?

I made sure to download 304.2 since Arthmoor says the older version won't like it when you update the Bashed Patch. BOSS was updated so that's why it sorts it properly.Fessels wrote:Yeah just before i started with Maiev i installed the new versions of those patches, and although i have Wrye Bash 304 i am not entirely certain it is version 304.2. You could do it in Oblivion with Tes4Edit so I imagine the Skyrim TES5Edit is the same. Plus, Wrye Bash does it as well. It converts esp's to esm's but just doesn't change the name to esm. There's a reason for that but at the moment I can't remember what that is.... I do know that Skyrim prefers esm's which is probably one reason they did it.But i still find it odd that they are ESP files that work and get sorted with the ESM files?

Hmm in that case i will install the 304.2 version and then rebuild the Bashed Patch, hopefully nothing gets messed up.Maigrets wrote:I made sure to download 304.2 since Arthmoor says the older version won't like it when you update the Bashed Patch. I know that Wrye Bash can convert ESP to ESM, but the new Patches have the ESP extension, that is why i am surprised that it works like that...oh well.Maigrets wrote:You could do it in Oblivion with Tes4Edit so I imagine the Skyrim TES5Edit is the same. I had a lot of problems with the Reproccer for SkyRe where it wouldn't update the new masters in it's list but I eventually found out how to fix it with TES5Edit. Since I will never play this game without SkyRe it was essential, even though it took ages to find the info.

That does look interesting actually. I never really level Alchemy much because I find enough potions in the world and I tend to use the healing spells, BUT I can't stop myself collecting every and any ingredient I come across. I do like to use poisons...

Yeah it is interesting alright. There is a setting you can activate in the MCM menu that allows you to set the potency up to 900%, but at first i could not get it higher then around 180%. But i quickly found out that the potency is connected to the duration, so the higher the duration the higher you can set the potency.

, I see you're using SkyRe.
Good luck with your game. Mine is at the moment. I'm in Solstheim and I still have the freezing and stutters after I reach a certain level or for some other obscure reason, not to mention crashes. I'm fed up with it atm so I'm back in Oblivion playing a full mage and enjoying it so far. No stutters, no crashes, so far anyway and it's heavily modded.

LoL yeah, for reasons you see/saw in my screenshot thread.Maigrets wrote:, I see you're using SkyRe.
I am sorry to hear that Maigrets. As for the Freezing and stutters...yeah that is a very odd thing for me as well. Yesterday in the afternoon i could play for about 3 hours or so without any freezing, and the stutters i got could be ignored. Then late in the evening i got around 3 freezes and a CTD in less then 45 minutes, so it is absolutely impossible for me to pinpoint what is causing it. Any way have fun with your Heavily modded Oblivion, and be sure to show us screenshots from your Oblivion play.Maigrets wrote:Good luck with your game. Mine is at the moment. I have to wonder how I can get to say, level 20-25+ without these things happening and suddenly it starts and never stops, or gets worse as time goes by. I also wonder and I might be wrong, but if the game crashes when it's trying to run scripts it somehow corrupts saves so the more you play the worse it gets. Anyway, like I said I'm going to leave Skyrim alone for awhile so I don't completely uninstall it in a fit of rage. I hate getting attached to a character and then this crap happens.
The game looks as good as Skyrim with all the mods I'm using and especially since I found this...
Oblivion Character Overhaul
I was dreading seeing the default ugly NPC's, but this is truly amazing. I use some of Nuska's mods in Skyrim and New Vegas. You'll never believe Oblivion's NPC's could look so good and she also made Orcs look amazing and I detest Orcs..... It almost makes me want to play a default race.

You are right, those look really great for Oblivion, not ugly what so ever. LoL yeah even the Orcs look damn good in that mod.

I meant to answer this sooner but we are in the middle of an extreme heat wave here (again) and I haven't been doing much besides survive the mid and higher 40c temps. It's been 47 and 48c in some areas for 3 days running...and 2 more to go before a "cool" change.MasterAub wrote:So happy new year to you all...

Your new PC sounds awesome. The little black cube reminds me of The Borg from Star Trek ....you will be assimilated...into the world of TES and will never escape.
Yes, I played the mod when it was first released and found it to be excellent and as true as possible to the lore of Hyboria and Conan. I posted screenshots back then as well. I believe it's had some updates since then but I haven't checked on what they are.I've installed all wanted Skyrim mod from my list...seems to be working smoothly and fine. 47°C is certainly very high...I experienced 40° and it was already very hard for me to stand such a heat; so 47 to 50 is definitely a challenge for every living being.
My Oblivion is fully installed . Every mod is green in Wrye Bashed and the program doesn't show any conflict between OOO 1.33 & WAC...That is strange, I am a little bit confused...I've just came out of the Imperial City and everything seems to be running quite smoothly . We'll see.

There shouldn't be any conflict as all the leveled lists are merged and should all work as intended. Balance might be an issue as WAC gear isn't well balanced for stats and weight as Alex never really got around to that part, but things like that don't bother me after so many years since game release. My Oblivion is fully installed . Some of the weapon and armour weights in WAC made me I don't remember them being so heavy in previous playthroughs, but I probably didn't take notice. For example, I picked up a steel mace which was something like 47+ weight which is a huge amount compared even to vanilla. it might be that some things were balanced and others not done as yet.
Don't think too hard about it, , in case the gremlins hear and jinx you....just enjoy it.
