I have been on and off with working on this... Sorry! I had to do a lot of research, to try to get full ideas about what I wanted to do. I was finishing up the final touches, and decided to put a strap on the weapons so they weren't just floating at the side. I also wanted it to match up with the color of the leather on the weapon too, so I tried using Skyrim's vanilla straps for some of the weapons with my own custom texture....
I didn't really like how it was looking, so I decided to just make my own using Waalx's Chest Belt from Oblivion and some reUV mapping. It was a lot of hard work but I finally made something I'm pleased with.
Here's how the strap looks. Thoughts?

Good grief! I think that's the first time I've ever seen something like this to fix the floating weapon syndrome.
That deserves a medal.
Edit: Are the Nord weapons getting it as well....

Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it sayingEnd Of The World Switch PLEASE DO NOT TOUCHthe paint wouldn't even have time to dry. Terry Pratchett

I want to do one for the Nords and other races, but I need to do more research first. I could put this on Nords Verbatim, but it just feels cheesyMaigrets wrote:Good grief! I think that's the first time I've ever seen something like this to fix the floating weapon syndrome.

to use the exact same strap. I want to make something interesting at least...that makes it seem unique to Nords, so it would have to wait.
If you guys just dont care though and like the strap a lot, I can try to do something basic though.

No clue, it'd be nice if you could tell me! xD.Jamez820 wrote:a lot of people(including me) use a mod that mounts 1 hand swords to the back, will these straps effect it? or will they just clip into the back and disappear.
When I release it for a beta test you can tell me yourself . It's a 3D model that's attached there in the Scabbard's NiNode, so it can be deleted easily, but I made and positioned the strap to kind of match up to actual Roman Legion weapon positionings and straps (to a slight degree anyway). Here's an example photo:

So being on the back already is pretty different from the intention. But it definitely would be great if you let me know how it worked out.

Very nice straps!
That's a great amount of detail for such a tiny thing...I wonder how much I would even see it while I'm running around! But it's great that it's there, because that's a quality touch.

The dog armour would look excellent on Vigilance since he's a war dog. I use Meeko now though so perhaps he could inherit a set...

That's interesting since Bethesda have always had a no tolerance policy for porting even within their own series of games.Gork712 wrote:There is some guy on the steam workshop who has permission to port oblivion armours and weapons into skyrim, maybe this means there is hope for getting WACs oblivion armours into skyrim??
Do you have a link to the info?

I don't really think he has permission. I'm wary of doing anything like this. Plus, even if I was to port stuff, the style of Skyrim is slightly differentGork712 wrote:Its all in the description, hasnt been removed so you have to assume its legit.

so it wouldn't fit in my opinion. The best way to go about it (to me) is to be really selective about what I port and for the most part, try to alter
what's already there to match up with a similar Waalx style.
Like daggers on various armor, just using Skyrim's armor and not Oblivion's

Hmmm, I wonder if that file just hasn't been reported. I seriously doubt Bethesda has changed the policy they've always had since the beginning. I'd be willing to bet if that file was uploaded to the Nexus with that description, it would disappear so fast (and the user banned), you'd be lucky to see it.
All that aside, Oblivion's weapons and armour models weren't that great (just my opinion) so converting WAC stuff selectively as shingouki says is the better, and safer way to go, (especially with respect to previous game file usage.)

Here's a little album of some new stuff. To give an idea of how the other Imperial stuff looks in game.

Yeah most of the armours are pretty unsuitable for skyrims style, but i really like the battle mage and bandit sets. they fit the most in my oppinion, though if porting isnt an option they would need to be remade either from skyrims armours or from someone who knows how to model.
And those are some colourful swords.
