Hey guys,

Is there someone who knows if i delete the dungeons and battle music in my folder would make oblivion go CTD ???
I only want explore and town music, but i'm unsure if it would make the game crash :-o

By the way , i want to know if you guys are playing with Beth's music, no music or custom music ? :)

I have no idea what deleting battlemusic would do, most likely you would lose any music while in battle.

Personally I use the OB soundtrack, the MW soundtrack and several other songs.

Here i found something interesting : If you want to do like me and flush a kind of music off your soundtrack, empty the folder, like Dungeon, and put the longest silent mp3 file you can put (those are coming with many mods that doesn't have voice acting). If you don't put the silent mp3 , when engaging combat, in exemple, The game will stop the explore music, but will come back with explore since there is nothing to play. Hope it will be of use to some of you !

I'm using the Ob soundtrack as well as a few other songs, like under battle I have Feuer Frei! set to randomly play, and sometimes when I enter towns, it plays the Orgrimar, or Stormwind themes :-)

I found some plugin awhile ago that uses some of the Baldur's Gate soundtracks to fill in for some of the soundtrack: It's a nice supplement to the original score. =)

Maybe a little of the Conan soundtracks wouldn't hurt, either? I used to use 'em for my table-top sessions, back in the day.

I already used my own songs in Morrowind and I use them in Oblivion, too. I like to hear German Folk Rock, like In Extremo, Letzte Instanz, Schandmaul, Subway to Sallym, ...
But Some Irish Folk like Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys (:

Any Black Metal, especially Burzum and Darkthrone, work well when raiding Aylied ruins and slaying undead.

Deleting music files will not break your game.

The music I play with... First I used Vanilla. Then, after 200 hours with it I turned of music completely. Now I downloaded some music from the Nexus, plus I added some of my own. My problem is, most music changes halfway through and thus doesn't fit anywhere. For example, one of them started in a perfect explore-fashion. Then, one minute later I thought I was being attacked because it picked up the pace in a very non-expore fashion. MAJOR nuisance.

I'm annoyed as well with the combat music. Very annoyed.

I'm using the two Conan soundtrack separated into what I thought would fit as replacement to the vanilla themes. Since it's my favorite soundtrack of all time ( not just because of Conan) it's always great. Always except when it shift if I encounter something.

I would like it a lot if my music just kept playing without interruption when I encounter something.

Is there a mod for that somewhere?

They tried hard and it's not possible. It's a nice hardcoded feature :P

Actually, i've got one mod that does the job rather well. It's called Immersive Combat Music, by the great Strategy master. Search it on the Nexus. The combat music starts when you obviously know that you are in combat. Normally, it starts when you engage the guy, or if he really near.

Somehow I end up just playing my whole media player playlist (Over 50GB :D ) instead of the ingame music in 90% of all games.

There are very, very few games that have music epic or amazing enough to keep me entertained whenever I play the game.

Damn I only have like half that much music...
