This is one of the few mods I absolutely must have when playing Oblivion. They're my favorite weapons in the entire game.

Now I'm just waiting for Dunmer blades, as my character is a dark elf. :-D-)

I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for the excellent work thus far. I can't wait until the Breton swords are done, but please don't take it that I am trying to rush you; art takes time.

Keep up the truly excellent work.

It's a shame this contest is over ... I have a great character that I'm playing right now. He is a Reachman--a Breton from the Western mountains of Highrock. These isolated clans were part mage, part warrior, and part assassin, and were shunned and feared by Imperials and Bretons alike for their use of forbidden magic, yet played an important part in history. When an ambitious noble wanted someone done right and proper, they sought out a Witchman...

After the Bretons got their butts kicked at Sancre Tor, it was a Witchman who assassinated then-Emperor Cuhlecain, set the Imperial Palace on fire, and slit Tiber Septim's throat (a near thing, but it failed to kill him). Tiber Septim then became Emperor and unleashed all holy crap on the Bretons, and conquered them with his 'doomsday' machine (the Blades were said to be involved with employing it).

Imagine now, if you will, the reception such a character might get from Jauffre and his modern Blades (and the Elder Council as well)...

BTW, Kendric Kyndeyrn (formerly a Cavalry First Sergeant) carries the bronze baskethilt sabre and black longbow exclusively--he is Breton 'trash' and proud of it. 8-)

well Vocha is in the Army for the whole year, so I doubt this is going anywhere for now..

however!

If you are into Oblivion and into writing stories as well, contact me, I may have something better for you. As I can see from your post you got yourself immersed enough to build a story that seems to fit...

Interesting.

you have put a lot of little detailing into this one, however, there's something missing here.

no shadow/highlights, or almost none.

This is really the secret to have a drawing go over the outline of the form. It,s also the hardest part to get right, as it's what will create the 'illusion of life' to whatever level you take it.

The outline is there. Fill that out with shadows and highlights. Give it a sense of depth, now it look like an animation cell. It's really the thing to work on, shadows and highlight. when you get that right you can skip the outline altogether too, like in a painting.

otherwise the figure can pass, even if it's off proportion a bit, it has a style of its own, and that's what count!

Try to learn to model shadow and light with a brushe/pencil. That is the real challenge in drawing.

Yeah I didn't shade the original sketch and I agree the shadowing/lighting really needs some work but it's getting there :) And yes I'm a detailfreak... thanks :)

I use the cheapest Wacom there is. You don't need a 400$ Intuos.

cheapest Wacom. Hours of fun and quite suitable for professionals as well. In fact I find the Intuos too sensitive and too big for my own taste.

I work on a 4x5 tablet. Small enhough that a move of the wrist cover the whole drawing area. Some people prefer a bigger area on a tablet. I prefer a very small size. I like to draw details in freehand drawing so a big tablet area is getting in the way.

they are cheaper as well. now for 79$ USD you can get one. Wacom got a new basic line.. look awesomely simple in design and look, and better electronic than the old 4x5 I use since now 2000 (8 years! but I bought a new stylus). wait a second..

Waalx and Mormacil what programs did you use to color and "make scribbles" on the drawings?

The drawings were made by hand and scanned, right?
