Can you please put a copy of each of the armors somewhere, like in the testing hall?
I really love going into battle fully suited, and looking cool.
I made some gladiator armor for mine, and It looked great, until I remembered I couldn't loot it. So I had to wait until the champion battle to get it off of Agronak.
There should definately be custom, special armor for the Grey Prince. He is the coolest part of the Arena.

I like the idea of waiting. I don't use RS only for good looks, I use them because they are worth their weght in gold (and then some). Same applies for armor, even if the best armor is the last you get, I'm prepared to wait.

the light armors
the armor parts that are in metal now, will be in leather, later... (thracian helm isn't textured yet...)
I'm working on building the armors now so you can expect to see them all very soon. With my original idea, we are speaking of 12 armors for each teams (6 males and 6 females) so a total of 24 armors! Honestly, 24 armors is a lot. so I still have to see how I'm going to do it.

Thracian Helm isn't textured..it's using the Secutor texture so that's why it look like
...
I just exported the thracian helm to see the form of it in the armor..
textures will be the final touch on all the armors, now I'm building them to see how many textures I need

Great to see some progress on the gladiator project.
It will sure be nice to have some more variety in the arena battles. I quickly got tired of the arena questline in vanilla Oblivion as all the opponents were basically the same, with very few exceptions.
While I know you've put the Morag Tong armour on the shelf for the time being, I have some thoughts on the discussion a few pages back...
Being attacked when becoming leader of any guild (other than the Dark Brotherhood) seems a bit far fetched in my personal opinion.
I don't believe the Morag Tong would do much business outside of Morrowind as they are almost exclusively a Dunmer institution. They are sanctioned by the occupying Imperials in the province of Morrowind but I doubt that the Empire would be very keen on seeing them providing services to and assassinations of non-Dunmer outside of the province of Morrowind. And I seriously doubt that honourable Morag Tong assassins would accept any such "outlander" job offers too, unless the contractor or the target is Dunmeri. Their traditional focus seems to be on honourable, legal writs within Morrowind as many Dunmer consider it a more civilised way of settling scores and seeing justice done than the traditional western custom of all out war and conflict.
There *IS* a Morag Tong assassin in the Mehrunes Razor DLC plugin but Frathen Drothan's lieutenant (Drothan = the main baddie and a rebel Telvanni Dunmer) is most likely the target of a writ from someone within House Telvanni as he is probably considered an upstart and a troublemaker by many other fellow members of his Great House, who seem to be more inclined than he is to try and maintain good relations with the Empire.
A few snippets of dialogue from the MW TESCS:
Caius Cosades:
For the above reasons I doubt that anyone would go through the extra trouble of hiring a Morag Tong assassin for even a "grey writ" against a Fighter's or Mage's Guild leader in Cyrodiil when the Dark Brotherhood already has a very strong presence there and would do the job with much less questions asked. Not to mention that the traditionalistic and honour bound members of the Morag Tong would probably not be overly interested in becoming involved in shady "outlander" dealings so far from their home province.
After all, the Dunmer *ARE* a xenophobic lot.
(And, yes, I'm a lore nerd.)
This is only my take on things though and I'll definitely DL and enjoy that Morag Tong armour regardless of how you decide to sort things out for that plugin, Waalx. It's looking great!
(Also, sometimes you might have to sacrifice a bit of lore to make something playable or else many players who don't play the Dark Brotherhood questline won't be able to enjoy that armour. Perhaps there might be an alternate way of finding the Morag Tong armour if you're not a member of the DB?)
Cheers, UQF

A few snippets of dialogue from the MW TESCS:
Caius Cosades:
Huleeya (an Argonian Morag Tong member):The Morag Tong is a guild of executioners and assassins, completely legal, and guided by a strict code of conduct. It's an ancient Dunmer society, steeped in tradition, but I know and respect a few Westerners who belong to the Morag Tong. They are nothing like the Dark Brotherhood. I have no idea how to join them.
Morag Tong faction members:I am only a low-ranking member. But pauper and commoner do not suffer from war here as they do in the West,to the honored traditions of House War and the Morag Tong. I am an Argonian, yet they treat me with respect. If you are curious, find a copy of "The Black Glove." But please... do not mistake us for the Dark Brotherhood! The Dark Brotherhood is a perversion of ancient Dunmer traditions. They have sold their honor for profit, and are no more than a league of murderers-for-hire.
Artisa Arelas:The Morag Tong is the ancient traditional assassins guild of the Dunmer. We provide three varieties of execution: public, private, and House War. We only recruit candidates of proven skill and honor, and only Grandmaster Eno Hlaalu in Vivec can authorize new members to join the Morag Tong.
Artisa Arelas does mention secret, extralegal "grey writs" but I doubt they'd execute many such writs outside of the district of Vvardenfell considering the overwhelming competition from the Dark Brotherhood there (as mentioned by Apelles Matius, before sending you to Asciene Rane for transportation to Mournhold in ES3 Tribunal):The Morag Tong is an assassins guild sanctioned by the Empire to provide three varieties of execution: public executions, private executions, and House Wars executions. Constrained by ancient traditions and rigid codes of conduct, the Morag Tong only recruits candidates of proven skill and honor. Morag Tong only accepts legally approved contracts called 'writs,' but rumor hints at the execution of secret extralegal 'grey writs.' The Morag Tong is the sworn enemy of the Dark Brotherhood.
Perhaps you have been attacked. That's bad business. I don't know who it is that wants you dead, and I don't want to know. Dark Brotherhood activity here on Vvardenfell has been almost unheard of, but I know they have a large contingent back on the mainland.

Yes but way before the Empire set foot on Dunmer soil they rarely left their homeland. Forgotten is right, the MT does not operate outside Morrowind, with of course some exceptions. Like the DB

Well, I didn't say that the imperials formed the Morag Tong. I said that the imperials sanction it, probably realising that the Morag Tong, unlike the no-good Dark Brotherhood, fills an important purpose in Dunmer society.Sypron wrote:I'm pretty sure that the Morag Tong were around before the expanse of the imperials into morrowind. The Morag Tong itself has probably existed for as long as there have been feuding Great Houses in Resdayn/Morrowind. Following their assassination of the emperor Reman III, effectively ending the first era, and then the Akaviri potentate Versidue Shaie they were outlawed throughout Tamriel. With the notable exception of Morrowind off course, where they were allowed to flourish under the watchful eye of the tribunal into what is today a well established part of Dunmer society. The assassins that operated throughout the rest of Tamriel most probably, in time, distanced themselves from their templegoing and traditionalist colleagues in Morrowind and banded into the notorious Dark Brotherhood which, as opposed to Morag Tong in their home province, operates outside the bounds of the Imperial law.
Some early history on the Morag Tong:
http://til.gamingsource.net/obbooks/fire_darkness.shtml
Edit: An interesting development from Morrowind to Oblivion is that, in ES3, the leader of the Morag Tong, Eno Hlaalu, and other Morag Tong members, clearly revered the Webspinner aka Mephala and, in the so-named quest, even wanted the Threads of the Webspinner back into Morag Tong possession. But the Oblivion book Fire & Darkness implies that the Morag Tong has renounced the worship of the daedra prince Mephala in favour of solely worshipping the Tribunal temple. One of those sources of lore is clearly wrong or off the mark. But then Bethesda might have done another "oopsie!" and overlooked older lore again. Like that would be a first in ES4...

while I get what you say, that limit the actions I can have for theses assassins a great deal.
My usual way of thinking since the beginning of the project is to make it Lore friendly if I can, but if it clash with what I could/want to do, then I have no reserve to do something that is more fun without being true to Lore, than boring and staying by the book.
Because with what you say, we can't have Morag Tong assassins at all, or only a couple and they would only be after you because of the DB.. that limit my possibilities too much, and I most probably won't follow Lore in this case.
