Yeah i remember that Tiger near the Brewery in Whiterun, it was always accompanied by a leopard...oddly enough. ( They could take out those guard most of the time. )

And that is the puzzle you mentioned in the general discussion, well it does not only sound complicated but it also looks the part!? Seems Bethesda listened when people mentioned that the puzzles in the Vanilla game where really easy. I will have to wait and see how fast i start ripping my hair out once i get to that place. :)

The Apocrypha screenshot does indeed look like a place you would not like to visit for long. As for the friendly Rieklings...well who would have thought. :)

WOW! Superb shots :D

That ominous door sent a shiver down my spine! I really must look at the DLCs this summer if I can afford it :D

Thanks Ailsa and Fessels. :)

BTW the puzzle door wasn't hard as puzzles go, it was the actions I had to perform to get it to work that was the problem....without spoiling it. :P
As for the friendly Rieklings...well who would have thought.
Yes, well I thought they were, at least the first ones I met, but I have to do something for them which may not turn out well as there's a related alternative quest. All the others you come across are unfriendly to say the least.
Here are a couple of Raven Rock. It really has that Morrowind feel to it. I've started the MQ and met Miraak so now he's stealing all my dragon souls as I kill them. I want his armour, but not the mask. It's ugly.

We're watching you, scum!
Image

The Riekling Dies...finally. Tough little sods and those spears really hurt.

Raven Rock

Shock Ball coming your way.....however you can't see what I'm aiming at. It's BIG and it's a secret and not that white thing in the background. :P I died several times and should really have left and come back later. My followers were all on their knees and down on their paws most of the time so they couldn't help.

Yeah those Velothi style buildings and the Morrowind armours bring back so many good memories. :)

And i have a hunch as to what that BIG thing could be, a while a go i saw a mod that concerned a big cold danger from the past. And i agree about Miraaks mask, the screenshots i saw showed a odd looking mask.

You'd be right. lol The worst thing, or one of them, is that he casts Blizzard and you can't see a thing except for a totally white screen in a small cave space. After you kill him you can summon him but only outdoors (because of his size) which is a bit useless really as the real hard enemies are in dungeons and most of the outside is mountains and cliffs. And if he cast Blizzard outside on a few crabs it's a bit of overkill to say the least.

I haven't tried summoning him but since that's his spell set, as well as summoning ice wraiths, I can't see myself using him. I can cast Blizzard myself but I don't use it. The Adept Frost spells are more than enough to kill anything especially with all the perks. I use Frost more than Fire even on Draugr.

Unfortunately, as much as I love tropical Skyrim in actual Skyrim, it affects the snowy areas and foliage in Dragonborn which is a bit of a let down. The areas around Raven Rock are fine, but most of the rest of the island is semi-tropical mixed with snow laden trees and rocks. I'll wait and see what the updates to TS bring as the author doesn't have the DLC's. Otherwise I may have to reluctantly go back to vanilla.

Yeah i saw with that mod that you get a spell to summon him, but it was also mentioned on that page that in the vanilla version you can only summon him 3 times or so. The mod changes this to unlimited times.

And about Tropical Skyrim...that is weird to see a island like Solstheim with tropical elements?

It's a bit disappointing really. I'm thinking about removing TS tomorrow and wait until the updates arrive since Soolie says there will be several versions to suit everyone who wants to use it. Hoping he can do something to exclude Dragonborn. I'd rather see Solstheim as it's supposed to be really.

Some more pics. Some are almost sepia in tone since they are all near Raven Rock and in the Ashlands where ash is often raining down and the sky is yellow. That area isn't affected by the tropics.

Tel Mithryn, the mushroom village.

Freefall in the Telvanni tower.

The Earthstone with Red Mountain still erupting in the background.

Netch family. They don't seem to be aggressive, although I haven't attacked them at all, yet.

Burned Spriggan. Very much alive though.

Lurker

Dark and gloomy realm. This one was amazing. The animated "constructions" are very well done.

Oh darn i so want to start the DLC main quests but at the moment my character is only close to level 8, so it will be quit some time before i can even start with the DG main quest reliably. ( Let alone the Dragonborn story line. :( )

Thanks Aisla. :) Yes, that was before I entered the realm proper and wondered what was in store.

I was reading that you can start at around level 10 to 20 but it will be hard. Without at least one follower you could do it at lower, but on your own, I don't know if I would try it. Some people recommend level 30. I was at 39 when I went there and still had to be careful even with followers. Plus, there are hard areas where followers can't go.

I also read you have to at least have the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest done but I'm not sure why. Perhaps because it's to do with shouts?

Anyway, you'll know when you're attacked by cultists that it's time. I don't know if they come at a specific level though.

I can't wait to hear your impressions. :-D-)

Changed your mind? In your post above mine you were eager to get into the DlC's and now you want it to be sometime away.

Ash Spawn. They rise out of the ash when you least expect it.

Lurker Guardians VS my summoned Seeker

Better view of my Seeker outside. They can phase in and out and have deadly spells. This one is on my side.

LoL i know how it sounds...yes i want to go there very much, but if a level 39 character has to be careful at times, then to me it is a sign that i should not go to Solstheim at a to low level until i have a real good reason to go their. ( Or at the very least until i believe my character has a chance to stand her ground in Solstheim. :) ) Since i use a mod that increases Health...Stamina and Magicka according to each skill increase my character gets for using a certain skill, that might be sooner then possible with a vanilla game. I am really liking how my character is progressing so far, so i wish to enjoy the game really well this time. ( Darn that sounds weird. :) )

After just mentioning all of that, know that it is not easy for me to see those screenshots of yours from Solstheim. ( Especially since i already hat Dragonborn longer then you. ) But this time around i am not going to rush anything unless i really have to. I guess that was a mistake i made many times before...rushing things which ended in me not really enjoying the game and my character to the fullest extend.

Now as for your latest screenshot...darn your summoned Seeker looks both creepy and awesome? But those Lurker Guardians must be really big since they seem to tower over your Seeker?

I get what you're saying. :) If I had started out with a new character I'd be feeling the same way and making a hasty retreat back to Skyrim. Those Ash Spawn are very tough and they have resistances as well as casting some kind of spell that has black smoke as SFX. I've managed to avoid being hit so far so I don't know what it does. Nothing good I expect.

The Seeker actually levitates but it was beaten down in that screenshot..lol...and they are creepy with all those tentacles. They make a horrible (spooky) sound too and are almost invisible until you get close, but you can hear them when they are about to attack. They only use magic so they aren't physically strong. The Lurkers are about the size of Deathclaws from the Fallout games and just as dangerous. They have huge tentacles which they use as whips which poison and stun you.

Bethesda did a great job with the new critters. I haven't yet shown the flaming spiders that explode out of crates or cocoons when you get close and the Werebears which I've only seen once, but wasn't quick enough to get a screenshot. Even Draugr are buffed and have a new variant.

I'm tell you now that going into dungeons is a harrowing experience, and I never felt that about the main game. I've had more than a few scares lately.

Hmm and here i thought that from the screenshots i saw from Ash Spawn elsewhere that they where a weak enemy, while they turn out to be the opposite. Thanks for the warning. :)

Looks like Bethesda thought things through with Dragonborn. Once i get there i am so going to enjoy it.

Reading your description of the monsters causes me to hesitate about getting Dragonborn LOL - the first ghost I saw in Morrowind made me jump out of my seat and caused me to wake my poor husband up LOL :D :D

Great shots too :D

A Dwemer puzzle. Every time you get it wrong the rotating blades come out on the platform where I'm standing, but there are smaller ledges and things to jump onto. This took me a little while to work out. The solution has to add up to 20 to complete the center ring....no more, no less.
Image

Werebear..one transformed and one about to.
Image

Poor dragon finally died in the water and sacrificed his soul to the ONLY Dragonborn.

Dragon riding. This is during the MQ but that's just a Lurker we're attacking. It shouldn't be a spoiler as I'm sure people have seen similar shots.

Thanks. :) I can't wait to go back as a warrior, but I have a lot to do back in Skyrim with this character so it can wait.

Riekling Boar Rider. These things do a lot of damage if they get close....to a puny mage. :cheese: Plus they are fast and can go up and down ramps and chase you all over the place.
Image

It's a shame you can't actually control the dragon as it just flies in it's own path until you tell it to land. If there are enemies below you can order him to attack and you can also attack, but the chances of enemies below is slim depending on where a dragon decides to spawn. It might be different with a dragon you can call at will, like Ohdahving, but I don't know if you can even ride him besides the scripted event. I haven't progressed far in the Skyrim MQ this time yet.

Anyway, this is an Ancient and he was amiable enough...lol, when I forced him to let me fly. As soon as we landed and I dismounted he flew off a little way, but came back to attack. I didn't want to kill him after the excellent flight and view of Solstheim from above, but I had to as he kept following and attacking unless I shouted him into submission again.

Treasure room before a boss. You an pick up all those piles of gold which are all about 80 to 90 or so coins each.

The boss...a Pirate ghost and his ghostly crew. All that fire is my Wall of Flame spell. Works wonders. :)

I did not like those mounted Rieklings in Bloodmoon and i am certain i will not like them now.

What a nice Ancient Dragon...well until it wanted your mage for lunch that is. :) As for the treasure room...*Jackpot* , that must have been a really nice amount alright. And those are some toasty Pirate ghosts.
