SKSE, (up to date) worked for me when I was using the Antilag mod and HiAlgoBoost.

I'm not using any of those now though since I found out the real reason why my game was acting up which I'll make a new topic about since it involves more than games. It only took about four months of digging and hair pulling ;-(( ....but I'm nothing if not persistent.

I am thinking about using the Borderless Window mod for more stability though since I just reinstalled Fallout New Vegas and couldn't stop it crashing until I tried a few ini tweaks and apps and it hasn't crashed since. Borderless Window for FONV makes the game so stable it's like a miracle.

Yeah that one works as intended. :)

The other border-less mods kept the game in plain windowed mode no matter what resolution i hat set in the through the skyrim launcher or the SkyrimPrefs.ini.

That's the one I meant. :) Just didn't feel like finding the link when I posted before and I wasn't actually aware there was more than one "windowed" mod for Skyrim.

If it works as well as the New Vegas version I'll be more than happy.

Actually, I gave the SKSE plugin one a try and it works perfectly. It goes to fullscreen straight away and I noticed a big jump in fps...before I was killed by Elite Vigilants and Silver Hand almost immediately on exiting a cave. The fact that in that fight I had none of the animation delays and stutters I sometimes get on starting combat was encouraging though.

Borderless Window

Is that the one you guys said doesn't work? I did use version 1.0 as some people said the newer one has problems with Alt tabbing....but I don't know why that's an issue for me because I never have a use for popping in and out of the game anyway. I'll give the later version a go at some point for interest sake.

Actually i meant this one, but i also tried the one you linked to and both gave the same result. In both cases i get a windowed Skyim in the top left of my Desktop. Fake Full screen does not do that, it does what it should for me. But if Borderless Window works for you and you like it then you are good to go. :)

You know what really puts me off about the Fake Fullscreen Mod....the popups asking for endorsements, and possibly other things during the game. I haven't actually tried the thing myself and won't because of this, but I have seen some comments about it and as far as I'm concerned that's not on. It's begging for attention and a disruption of the game, among other things. :-?

A quote from one user who mentioned it:
Thank you, it works like a charm. If I may be a bit critical, not of the mod itself, but the... ahem... garnish, it would be nice of you to mention on the description page that running this program will cause popup ads to appear on your screen. It's not a big deal in an of itself, but discovering that a software you chose to run on your PC has some "hidden qualities" is always alarming.

It only happened once to me, after that i have not seen any pop up from Fake Fullscreen, be it during game play or after exiting? And i seem to remember that the author also mentioned that it should only happen once after you exit the game the first time using Fake Fullscreen.

Alright although i am not going to place all of my mods here, these are some of the interesting mods i am using with Daevin. :)

For the winter Skyrim i use these:
---------------------------------------------------

For these you really need the read the description pages for load order. ( Seriously...or it will not work as intended. )

* Climate of Tamriel main plus CoT winter edition. ( As if we do not know this one already. )

* Expanded Snow Systems - Climates of Tamriel Version.

* Markath and Riften with snow textures - mainly for the CoT Winter Edition.

* More Snow.

* Snow Call - Storm call shout tweak.

* Towns and Villages Enhanced - Whiterun Snow BETA.

* Winter Rift for CoT-Winter.

Mods that improve on enemies and/or the player:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

* OBIS - Organized Bandits In Skyrim.

* High Level Enemies.

* Skyrim Immersive Creatures.

* DFB - Random Encounters.

After having installed DFB - Random Encounters, download and install DFB - Random Encounters - MCM Update and overwrite when prompted.

* Excellent Racials Package.

* Aurora Doomstone Package.

* Enemy AI OverHaul---Revenge Of the Enemies---No Scripts Version.

* Custom Difficulty Multipliers.

The mods i found and made me start a new character: ( You all really need to look at these, especially the veterans among us. :) )
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Skyrim Unbound. ( Really check this one out. :) )

* Player Knockout.

Now both of these mods are from the same author, and they can not be found on the Nexus because he got banned from there. ( I think because of Ban evasion or something. ) Any way the author has made two great mods and also thought about those of us who do not use the Steam Workshop links. He also has the latest versions of these two mods on this web page.

I checked the site with Comodo's Website Inspector and Virus Total before downloading from there, and they showed no problems what so ever with the site. On top of that i use Google Chrome and it has their Safe browsing feature, and also Bitdefender Traffic light and both of these gave no warning. Comodo Anti Virus and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware reported the files as clean after downloading and scanning them. :) But you do not have to take my word for it and check it out yourself if you want.

BY THE WAY:

If you want to use Skyrim Unbound and if you do not want to start the main quest right away ( Or at all for that matter. ) and if you use....

* Deadly Dragons: Make sure to deactivate all assault settings.

* Skyrim Immersive Creatures: Make sure to uncheck the box that lets you absorb the soul of a Dwemer mechanical Dragon. ( It is under the Advanced tab of the MCM menu i think. )

* Skyrim Unbound: when entering its MCM menu the very first time make sure to uncheck the boxes for dragon spawning and soul absorbing on the right.

Okay here is my current load order:

I'm more than happy with SkyRe though but it looks like you have a challenging setup now which is probably an understatement... :grin:

I'm going to start over as well although I like my current character. I'll try to recreate him though but I want to get rid of some mods that are annoying me. Now I'm playing Fallout NV again at least I can add and remove mods without hassles, except for the few that really need a new game.

How are you going to manage the Workshop mods if they get updated and downloaded whether you want it to or not? Especially overhauls. I guess staying offline forever would fix that...lol.

Well SkyRe is great as well, so it does not matter whether some one uses SkyRe or Combat Remastered. :)

I thought about recreating Vokun-Tuz, but this time i could not stop thinking about the fact that as far as i know Lizards are cold blooded. As such they need a lot of warmth from the sun to regulate body heat, and a ice world like i have Skyrim now just does not have that. I am glad to hear that FNV is so easy with adding and removing mods, must be a real joy compared to Skyrim. :grin:

Well first of all Steam is indeed constantly offline for me unless i wish it otherwise, but i did not download Skyrim Unbound and Player Knock out from the workshop but from this web page the author set up for those who do not like to use the workshop. ( I already placed a link to that page in my previous post BTW. :) )

http://www.intarwebz.net/sub/games/skyrim/mods/

Just once in a while ( Maybe every two weeks or so. ) i will check that web page to check if a new version arrived.

I get the impression sometimes that you feel insulted when I say I prefer another mod than your choices, which isn't my intention. Like you said it doesn't matter, we all have different preferences and I'm not trying to influence you in any way. In my case I just prefer SkyRe because it does so much more that I want than other mods. A bit like OOO for Oblivion. It's not for everyone though. :)

Do not worry Maigrets, i am not insulted in any way. Every person has her/his own favourite things in life, game mods included. Image

Skyrim Immersive Creatures has been updated to version 6.1.2. :)

Version v6.1.2

*fixed an error that prevented Goblin Tribes from fighting each other
*fixed 1 Goblin mesh that caused a CTD for some people
*fixed an issue with Dwarven Centurions that could lead to invincible spawns
*fixed a bug that prevented some Draugr from equipping their helmet
*fixed 2 falmer meshes with holes in the arms
*fixed the ore & egg spawner -> both scripts now check more often for changed MCM settings

*overworked all Draugr level lists -> should fix rare invisible encounter
*overworked all Dremora level lists -> fixes problems with quest used & summonable NPCs
*changed some scripts to use the translation.txt & added missing parts -> translators can now translate every scripted message
*corrected a wrong spell name
*fixed a bug that prevented Hybrid Soul Cultists from transforming
*removed water spawn points near docks
*removed junk from the main BSA and tweaked some textures (reduced BSAs file size about 200mb)

*added loot functionality for iron armor wearing Draugr -> this includes new female variants and random hair / beard / armor combinations
*added Plague Wolf including a new disease, model and texture
*added some missing spider and troll variants that lacked level list integration
*added Skeleton Acolyte and Draman Skeleton Akolyte
*added custom wolf pup meshes (Hypno88)
*several Ore Guardian tweaks: a) random size b) random loot amount c) change skin after looting (like ore veins after mining)
*added mouth movement for Draman Norokdir
Yeah there will always be people who are so * begin sarcasm * brilliant * end sarcasm * that they do not see how stupid they actually are.

Since my video card crashed I have been dreaming about my new computer and how I would customize Skyrim. The next computer will be NSA certified...so NO LIMIT... lol

I red about tons of mods & wached countless videos about mods that would enhance my Skyrim experience I spare you the weapons armors house and Quest mods only to focus on graphic & gameplay mods. Let me know if you tried some of those and if you recommend them or feel others could do a better job.

Graphic mods

Skyrim HD 2K Texture
Skyrim Flora Overhaul
Lush Trees & Grass
Imaginator
Shadow Stripping Fix Indoor & Outdoor
Dynavision
Better Dynamic Snow
HD Enhance Terrain
Project Parallax Remastered

Gameplay

Climate of Tamriel
The Dance of Death Kill Move
Auto Unequipped Amo
UFO
Follower Trap Safely
Move it dammit for NPC Companions & Followers
Claralux
Skyrim Monster Mod (maybe but only the lore friendly version)
Skytest Realistic Animals & Predators
Wearable Lanterns
Saber Gear Back Pack & Travel Back Pack & Bandoliers
Convenient Horses
Birds of Skyrim
Skybirds
Birds & Flocks
83 Willow 101 Bugs
My Home is your Home
Player Headtracking
Ultimate Combat
Race Menu
Unofficial Skyrim Patch
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch

My goal is a realistic gameplay and a beautiful Skyrim with no conflicted mods (sooner or later those conflicts will screw you up so I am aiming for zero conflict :) )

So I will rebuild my computer end of december and I am counting on your advise...in advance thanks mate

The comments I've made are based on my own choices and where there is no comment it's because I haven't used the mod.

Graphic mods
Pure Water - I use W.A.T.E.R. which adds a bit more like wet rocks and some other stuff, but is much the same.
Skyrim HD 2K Texture - My PC couldn't handle this, although there is a LITE optimized version I believe. I have other texture packs that I prefer.
Skyrim Flora Overhaul - I have tried a few others but always come back to this. I use the Summer version and the option for Expanded Diversity which adds more and varied trees and plants.
Lush Trees & Grass - Used to have this but find it unnecessary with Skyrim Flora Overhaul. Plus it has a performance hit for me. That may not be a problem for you though.
Imaginator - Yes. You can get some very nice lighting and colour effects from this.
Shadow Stripping Fix Indoor & Outdoor
Dynavision - Haven't actually tried this in Skyrim as I use FXAA and SweetFX which gives a very nice DOF effect among other things.
Better Dynamic Snow

HD Enhance Terrain - Yes. It makes distant terrain look so much better.
Project Parallax Remastered

Gameplay
SkyUI - ESSENTIAL
Climate of Tamriel - My preference and I don't find it has a performance hit.
The Dance of Death Kill Move - very good also although I find the game's kill cams are somewhat bugged. They can trigger without killing the enemy and in some cases even get you killed. Not the fault of the mod though.
Auto Unequipped Amo - I use this otherwise arrows often default to the lowest type when changing weapons.
UFO - this is old and has many problems, especially with modded followers. Better to use AFT or another follower mod.
Follower Trap Safely - Yes, but I think if using a follower mod as above it's incorporated.
Move it dammit for NPC Companions & Followers - Haven't really needed this but probably should use it since I do get stuck in rooms blocked by followers at times. A quick "tcl" in the console works just as well...lol. Having said that I've cut my followers list to two...Inigo (awesome Khajiit) and Garm (husky follower) so the problem is very rare now. There are other great modded ones as well and after using some of them the vanilla followers are just incredibly annoying.
Claralux
Skyrim Monster Mod (maybe but only the lore friendly version) - Used to use it but I find Immersive Creatures to be better. You can use both with patches though.
Skytest Realistic Animals & Predators
Wearable Lanterns - Yes, very good.
Saber Gear Back Pack & Travel Back Pack & Bandoliers - Also, yes. I use these and they are great, especially the Sabre Gear backpacks.
Convenient Horses- A fantastic mod. If you like to use horses it's an essential.
Birds of Skyrim - Great for ambiance. Heavily scripted.
Skybirds - As above.
Birds & Flocks
83 Willow 101 Bugs - Another great mod for atmosphere.
My Home is your Home - I use this and it works perfectly when I collect a few companions and want them to stay somewhere without being dismissed.
Player Headtracking
Ultimate Combat
Race Menu - very, very good for character creation.
Unofficial Skyrim Patch - ESSENTIAL
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch - ESSENTIAL
Achieve that - I couldn't care less about achievements normally, but this is a fun mod. It even gives little bonuses at different stages as you progress.
Run for your Lives (not compatible with Deadly Dragons) - Yes it is. I use both without problems.
When Vampires attack - some people including myself had issues with this but it's been updated I believe. I choose to use a different mod though.
Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement or Melt down everything or Item Recycling
Wet and Cold
Frostfall Hypotermia-Camping-Survival - I tried Realistic Needs and while it's a great mod it got annoying after awhile so I doubt I would try this. I can't remove it or risk ruining my game due to the scripting. If something like the realism mods had been incorporated in the base game, (with a choice to use it or not as in Fallout New Vegas,) so it affected NPC's it would be so much better. The authors of the realism mods have done wonders though to make it work as they have.
Enhanced Mighty Dragons
Dragon Soul Relinquishment
SKREEE - Less Frequent Dragons
My goal is a realistic gameplay and a beautiful Skyrim with no conflicted mods (sooner or later those conflicts will screw you up so I am aiming for zero conflict :) )

So I will rebuild my computer end of december and I am counting on your advise...in advance thanks mate
The most important thing is you need to decide ahead of time which mods you will use for a playthrough, especially mods that use scripts and especially scripts that run all the time. You can't remove a mod at all now, unlike the old Oblivion days, or you risk corrupting your saves and ruining your game so choice is crucial.
Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it sayingEnd Of The World Switch PLEASE DO NOT TOUCHthe paint wouldn't even have time to dry. Terry Pratchett

Thank you so much Maigrets for such precise and straight forward answers.

Your advices are gold for me. And as you mentioned planning seems crucial for modding this game.

I think I'll have two prerequisites:
1) Avoid redundancy
2) Limit heavy scripted mod

Graphics: at this stage I'll go with 7 mods
• Pure Water or W.A.T.E.R: will read more on this & make a choice, I used to use Pure Water & found it did the job just fine.
• Skyrim HD 2K Texture
• Skyrim Flora Overhaul I'll go with your reco, seems a better choice
• Imaginator
• Shadow Stripping Fix Indoor & Outdoor (will make sure it’s not in the unofficial patch)
• Dynavision (the mod is safe & clean)
• HD Enhance Terrain

Gameplay:
• SkyUI : was already using it. A must
• Climate of Tamriel: my preference as well
• The Dance of Death Kill Move: buggy but cool
• Auto Unequipped Amo: I am an archer so a must…
• UFO: will follow your reco & use AFT instead
• Move it dammit for NPC Companions & Followers
• Skyrim Monster Mod: will use either this one or Immersive creature (back to my rules), will read more on IC
• Wearable Lanterns. A must
• Saber Gear Back Pack & Travel Back Pack & Bandoliers
• Convenient Horses
• Birds of Skyrim+Skybirds+Birds & Flocks (they can work together and yes I love my birds)
• 83 Willow 101 Bugs (I love my bugs too)
• My Home is your Home
• Player Headtracking: small inoffensive mod (I keep it)
• Ultimate Combat: to be checked more but seems to be a good alternative to skyre which might be too heavy
• Race Menu: a must why not having it?
• Unofficial Skyrim Patch
• Unofficial Dawnguard Patch
• Unofficial Dragonborn Patch
• Achieve that: never tried but as you mentioned sounds fun
• Run for your Lives: ok so if it is compatible with DD then I’ll make a choice between DD and Enhanced Mighty Dragons because I really want my dragons to be deadly..
• When Vampires attack will check this to make sure it’s been addressed before installing but if you know of other mods that do the same and work just find please let me know.
• Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement or Melt down everything or Item Recycling I’ll go with the simplest which is “Item Recycling”
• Wet and Cold: armless
Frostfall Hypotermia-Camping-Survival – you are correct typicall mod that sounds and is good on paper but can be annoying after a while, I’ll give it a second thought
• Enhanced Mighty Dragons to be compare with “Deadly Dragons”, if it works with SKREEE or a mod that make dragon appearance less frequent then I’ll go with Deadly Dragons instead.
• Dragon Soul Relinquishment
• SKREEE - Less Frequent Dragons if it works with DD

Thanks again Maigrets. I can see clealry now (you know the song... :grin: ) I'll keep on checking this topic

Although Maigrets was faster, i made a promise so here it is. :)

Graphic mods:

* Pure Water:

I used it for a very long time and it is a good reliable mod, but a while ago i found Realistic waters Two...tried it out and prefer it over Pure Water now. It is just a personal preference i guess,you can not go wrong with
either of the two mods.

* Skyrim HD 2K Texture:

I use many texture replacers, but i do not think i am using anything from this mod?

* Skyrim Flora Overhaul:

This is a great overhaul and i am using the basic version in my current game. One of the best Flora overhauls on the Nexus. And although i personally prefer Summer Skyrim 3 HD in a normal play through, the SKyrim Flora Overhaul mod is a great mod.

* Lush Trees & Grass:

I know the mod but never used it myself.

* Imaginator:

Let's just say that i would not want to play Skyrim without it. If you decide to use it...there is a separate download that gives Imaginator a MCM menu.

* Shadow Stripping Fix Indoor & Outdoor:

I do not use it.

* Dynavision:

I get save game bloat from it, but i saw that this is not the case for every one, so i would suggest to be careful when you decide to check this one out.

* Better Dynamic Snow:

I can really recommend this mod, it makes the snow look so much better.

* HD Enhance Terrain:

I do not use this mod.

* Project Parallax Remastered:

I do not use this mod.

==================================================================================================================================================

Gameplay

* SkyUI:

I so do not want to play Skyrim without this one, a absolute must for myself.

* Climate of Tamriel:

Normally i use Skummer Skies from Summer Skyrim 3 HD, but with my current play through i use the winter edition. I have used a Previous version of CoT for a long time in the past, and never regretted it. For me it is the number two weather mod for Skyrim, so go for it. :)

* The Dance of Death Kill Move:

Simply the best Kill move mod for me, it's MCM menu makes setting it really easy.

* Auto Unequipped Amo:

I think i used it once in the past, and i seem to remember that i did not like it. It comes down to personal preference again i guess.

* UFO:

I do not use followers, so i have no need for a mod like this.

* Follower Trap Safely:

I do not use followers, so i have no need for a mod like this.

* Move it dammit for NPC Companions & Followers:

Never used it.

* Claralux:

I have used it long...long ago, but i switched to Lanterns of Skyrim - All In One.

* Skyrim Monster Mod (maybe but only the lore friendly version)

Certainly a great mod, i have used it in the past for quit a long time. But i prefer Skyrim Immersive Creatures now a days. It comes with a few presets you can set in it's MCM menu. I can really recommend Skyrim Immersive Creatures.

* Skytest Realistic Animals & Predators:

It is a long time ago since i used this mod, so to be honest i have no idea how the current version is?

* Wearable Lanterns:

I have used this mod in the past and is certainly good, but i stopped using it since i personally prefer night eye.

* Saber Gear Back Pack & Travel Back Pack & Bandoliers:

I never used this mod.

* Convenient Horses

I think i used it once in the past, but since i do not like using horses i never installed it again after that.

* Birds of Skyrim:

Never used if i remember correctly.

* Skybirds:

never used it.

* Birds & Flocks83 Willow 101 Bugs:

A very good mod in my opinion, i do not think you will regret using this one.

* My Home is your Home:

I never used this mod.

* Player Headtracking:

I never used this mod.

* Ultimate Combat:

I never used this mod.

* Race Menu:

You will not regret using this one, gives so much more ways to make your character different then the vanilla way.

* Unofficial Skyrim Patch / Unofficial Dawnguard Patch:

Install these for Skyrim itself, and for every DLC you have...it solves so many things that could cause a problem.

* Belt-Fastened Quivers:

Never used it.

* Achieve that:

Certainly a great mod, it will make you want to go out and do the things needed to get a certain achievement. :)

* Run for your Lives (not compatible with Deadly Dragons):

Very useful mod, and it is compatible with Deadly Dragons, it is just the part of the "Assault" setting that is not compatible with Run for your lives. As long as it is a vanilla Dragon Spawn
then both mods are compatible.

* When Vampires attack:

This one does not work as intended for me, so on a tip of Maigrets i started using this mod instead.

* Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement or Melt down everything or Item Recycling:

I used it in the past and it is certainly a great mod, definitely worth using.

* Wet and Cold / Frostfall Hypotermia-Camping-Survival:

I am not much of a fan of those type of mods, so i can not say much about them.

* Enhanced Mighty Dragons:

I was a great fan of this mod in the past and i am certain it is still a great mod, but EMD combined with Dragon Combat Overhaul makes Dragon fights to brutal...even for me. :D

* Dragon Soul Relinquishment:

I never used this mod.

* SKREEE - Less Frequent Dragons:

I never used this mod.
Yeah there will always be people who are so * begin sarcasm * brilliant * end sarcasm * that they do not see how stupid they actually are.

Thanks mate you’re a man of your word :-)
Here is what I take from you and some more research…

Please let me know which set of textures you're using so I can make up my mind on "Skyrim HD 2K Texture"
I’ll drop dynavision: not sure what it will bring to the table anyway…and as DeNiro in Heat would say: “when there’s doubt then there is no doubt.”
I’ll drop Project Parallax Remastered as there is incompatibility issue
Immersive Creature seems to be the recommended creature mod around so I’ll look in it very closely and decide
I’ll get rid of “When Vampires attack”
I’ll drop Frostfall Hypotermia-Camping-Survival
I need to mature my thinking about Deadly Dragons vs. Enhanced Mighty Dragons & the Dragon Combat Overhaul you mentioned. I was not aware of the latest. Red about it and it sounds very interesting and compatible with Deadly Dragons…My main complaint about Skyrim is the spawning frequency of Dragons. I would like fewer dragons but more powerful ones and I am not sure Deadly Dragons provides this feature or works with a mod that provides it…

Thanks for your help I will keep on refining the list until the long awaiting date. (D – 89) ;)

Here is the list as it stands today
