Anyway, the wait is always the best part, for once you got something it loose it's interest!
So ter help yer wait...an little.

A Crocodile, a Black Caiman, an small innoffensive lizard with no arms, So I called them the Armless, pun intended as they are armless and harmless too!

My axe is hungry. It has started to talk to me. It wants flesh, bones, blood and raw meat.
I just hope I can satisfy its needs before it starts to take it out on me.
Good job by the way.

Heh, first time I’ve really seen this stuff. Am I a just lurker? Or oblivious? Or zoophobic?
I’ll go with "Oblivion" for $300, Alex
Those puppies are really nice! Sabrtooth cats are always awesome, and yours are no exception. Can we have one as a pet? And that young Cheetah housecat-sized one is really cute! Ditto on the Ferret. And the tiger sharks? Yea, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, WAALX $*%#'s IT UP!!!!
Oh, and the “Fat Town Guard Cuirass” is priceless!
And that Silverback Gorilla troll…I don’t wanna run in into THAT at night! Hey, are you planning to turn the Yeti model and replacing Beth’s original lazy “invisible troll” they did for the Udyrfrykte? That would rule…and you gotta make it BIG.
Armless is my new favorite critter, though.
Awesome work, Waalx! I’ll be jumping over here my often now and taking a look, pressuring you to finish like everyone else…

Great job on the lynx!
As for the crocs, well, their legs look a bit odd to me. All crocodiles have knee joints that are bent outwards instead of, like the rat skeleton, bent in underneath the body. The Shivering Isles' Baliwog skeleton would probably fit better but even their animations aren't perfect for the task. Especially the swimming animations, as crocodiles use their tail to propel themselves through the water and not their feet.
To be honest I'm not sure there is an existing creature skeleton in Oblivion that would look 100% right on a crocodile creature without extensive modifications to both the rigging and animations.
Perhaps some kind of crocodile like prehistoric, amphibian sea creature, rigged on the Baliwog skeleton instead?
Inspiration?

Also, no signs yet that my job will give me any break. I'm beginning to get a bit PO'ed at my management at the moment. I'm already working way more than I'm supposed to this february.
Hopefully, later on this month, I'll have some more time. I haven't even had time to spend a single evening with my girlfriend this week.
Anyway, again, great work on the lynx. Going to make the more slender, but twice as large, eurasian lynx as well?
Cheers, UQF

I don't know what you talk of with the Invisible Troll of the Udyrfrykte..where was that? I may have seen it just forgot, not been playing much in a long while as you can guess..
I am in the process of deciding what I will replace with what in the game now. The base WAC master will not touch the original game content, but I will make an esp add-on that will add/replace many of the new beast to existing lvl lists. So THAT will conflict with other overhauls of creatures, but if you run only WAC, it will be a better experience to have many spawn lists of vanilla also modified.
the general form of the croc is off I know. It was made on the rat body, once you understand this you can pass over that!Forgotten wrote:Great job on the lynx! Smile

for now the croc will work on the rat anim, except I will remove the fastforward animation and replace it with a renamed walk animation. Might just work.
I want to make some prehistoric beasties, but not now. Later.

I forget-- you never played Morrowind, right? Anyway, I'll go ahead and explain the whole thing. The second expansion for that game, Bloodmoon, had a Beowulf-like (oh, who am I kidding-- lazy Beth pretty much ripped it completely) storyline regarding a critter called the Udyrfrykte (playing the part of "Grendel) that tore up Thirsk, a meadhall. You had to go kill it...and stuff. Anyway, there's an unofficial quest in Oblivion where you find a camp up near Bruma and a book that talks about what happened after the "hero" (you) left the meadhall. A character from Bloodmoon was having nightmares about another, and they track it to the Cyrodiil border. You pretty much get to go find it and kill it.
Instead of the awesome mesh they used for the Udyrfrykte in Bloodmoon, in Oblivion the Udyrfrykte Matron you fight is nothing more than a large troll with an "ice effect" on it that screws up half the time, so instead of looking big and icy it's completely invisible. It's a tough fight to begin with, but especially if it sneaks up on you! It's still one of my favorite nostalgia quests, even if it is half-assed. Your Yeti would be a wonderful replacement, though.

I will take note of this and replace that thing with a bigger Yeti.

the "invisible troll" of the Udyrfrykte is actually in Oblivion, in the NE corner of the map, near Dive Rock... you have to do some serious climbing to get there, but there are some great rewards for killing it. Sorry I havn't responded to your post Waalx, I've been a bit busy lately trying to get some of the government job aspects of my life in order... I'll get Mormacil to explain what you guys need and see about doing some work on it soon.
Edit: PS, the replaced troll would be really cool if done, especially if it's buffed up a little, for something that killed two renowned adventurers as it has in Oblivion, it was way too easy to kill with Vanilla OB weapons and armor, and I was playing my mage char and not using spells -_-

Yea, I know it's using the rat skeleton.Waalx wrote: ...

Baliwog anim cannot work for croc, the swimming anim is worse than the rat actually, (balliwog swim the brass!).

Hmmm, that got me thinking.... Perhaps it is possible to combine both rat and baliwog animations for the crocs? I.e. the WAC croc will use the baliwog land movement anims but the rat swimming anims. I don't really have experience with animations in Oblivion to know if that would work (or look even crappier) but it might be worth an experiment...
As for my (over)work, well, I'll give you a shout if I can get some time off to do some modding. I'm still hoping I'll have some spare time in the latter part of february if you're still needing people to place creature spawn markers. Can't promise anything yet though.

I have to make more tests, what I tried didn't work. (for the croc animation).
I added the Yellowbelly Ogre I made for Corepc a while ago... except this one have a modified head, it's smaller, so better for a bigger ogre. Made a quick texture that doesn't satisfy me for a seagull (will rework that more), and the pheasant.

Awesome work Bro
I can say with the coming of your new Jaguar, I'm totally flabbergasted! It truly look like it should be: The loook on its face is like its stalking a prey, the texture is at it best, even the front part of the neck look nice and fluffy like it should be.
That make you a award winner of a brand new slave for your map thing!
I do only 1 day a week at the post office so I can say i got some spare time. The thing is,:IObectnomore: I don't know a thing about what you need to do or if I'm able do it . Post a mini-tuto of what you what and how its done, for me or for other...
I'd really like to see The WAC hunt working soon.

Very simple me lad, as we said early, an monkey could do its!
But first you'll need a couple of tools, and a little experiencing about how to make a mod...
first download this.
this is the Construction Set, the tool to make mods.
install and launch it. When it has loaded, you will have an empty window, go to File/ Data a window will open, with Oblivion.esm first and then after that will be listed all your installed mods. Select the Oblivion Master file, and load it.
Roam around the place and look at how it work. It can look daunting at first as there's a lot of stuff.. Read this, don't do it but try to understand whats going on.
After that I will tell what need to be done. You will be provided with a new master file, and you will build a new esp based on it. Making an .esp from an .esm is straightforward. The .esm (master) provide the data of a new plug-in file, you take some of that info and modify it, thus creating an .esp. The changes by the esp will override what is in the master, or add new stuff. That's how it work .
-you get the WAC .esm as a base.
- then you build an .esp based on it. What need to be done for beyond the borders, is simple. You will have a list of objects that will spawn critters at the place you will drop them on the map, or should I say 'outside' the map.
So you will open locations in the Construction Set and drop the spawn points. You will have a map to help locate where you are, and what locations ID means what, (useful since in the empty land its hard to navigate and get where you are).
ah and me too the Jag is my favorite of the cats...
