Damn Waalx, that's really good stuff you got there, any chance on a female version of those? geez... you realize you are going to have to change all the stuff about the Realswords project (even if this isn't part of that, you are extremely exeding your quota.) keep it up man, it's really good.
It's a pally thing, you wouldn't understand.

haha, Oblivion just got that much sweeter! :D

Amazing Battlemage armor, I can't wait to test it out. Plus thats actually the type of armor I had in mind for a group of Black Marsh Warmages.

damn.. that armor looks awesome. i've always been more of a fan of battlemages than robe-and-staff mages.

WIP??? It certainly looks finished to me:) Great great work, btw. Writing in this forum is pointless, all praises no real input. But what can you do, most of the stuff is pretty awesome:))

Holy crap Waalx. You've outdone yourself and I mean it.... I do suggest also a plated version of Battlemage armor, maybe with (glowling) runes?

Brown are for the noble magician type. Typically you will see them on the Imperial Battlemage in the university and by some few good magic users.

Black are the Black Witches. a special new breed.

Red the Red Witches...another new breed....

..of which more will be told later in the Chronicles of Steel. (available near you at a classified date!) :P

I aim to make them something special... so the armors will not be unique or almighty.

there's also a studded version that look a bit more brutal. chance is that theses are the powerful ones that I will enchant. the regular ones like I've shown so far (and in the bottom of this post) will not be enchanted.

so ter make ye wait an little...

some pic of the new cuirass in-game.

some examples of the red witche color. it's a female in a male armor! female model isn't done yet.

on these the 'bean bag' is brown but should be black. I forgot to change the color before loading the game... ;)

Agreed. The red and brown has a great natural look.

Nice, I assume the buttons and strings in the bumpmap are still WIP? And I can't wait to get my hands on these babies :)

hehe

but that's the point!

I asked myself...how would you like to play being a mage/witch. I said, well in one instance...

Like one of the wizards in Larry Elmore paintings. So I started the mage belts stuff.

but then..

but what about something more warlike and hardcore than a robe?

yeah ok..

I would like to look like Edward Scissorhands in armor mixed with a bit of gladiatorial Conan style (a must in any recipe), something weirdly intricate (yet still plain) that can evoke the sand people of Star Wars in brown, or a The Crow/Edward/Hellraiser/Dune suit in black.

now I ask myself to shut up.

so...one guy asked me about no sleeves on the BSF..

1- the first version had longer shoulder parts and I made it with regular robe sleeves. mean that one you can adapt it to other robes that other textures, while having the breastplate only kind of over the robe. That would be the battle mage version. adapted vanilla sleeve style, vanilla hem. work with the battlemage color map to color it either black brown or red, or in combination with other robes textures (or with the other 2 battle mages colors), in that case that mean the robes will load two textures, one for the chest and one for the rest, but that doesn't matter much compared to a full armor with much more textures than that..

2- the one with sleeves made of banded leather would be the witch version (red and black). These slim sleeve, and I may possibly make a new hem for the witches.

But I think you mean no sleeves at all, right? I will do a model with bare arms and removable wristbands. that has always been in my plan with this. I tried it with mail too, but that didn't look very good. Indeed a bare arm model is mandatory! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

On a side note, all the bags and stuff the mages wear on their belt are driven by one small texture (86 kb) in each color set-up. Mean that adding the bags and stuff to all robes in-game won't affect anything at all. The bags and pouches and stuff can also be transfered to other armor types or clothing with some small adjustments.

the three colors also showing the brown model with robe sleeves

and yes did you notice on that the black witch on the left side? it's the female version of the armor.

May not be what you expected

it's still a WIP. Notably the wristbands sucks and I need to ponder on what to do.

yes they are

and that's the point of the armor for the female black witch, it's acting as a distraction.
