They are not. Skeletons have their own skeleton with fewer bones, what I did was rig the skeleton mesh from scratch to the NPC skeleton.
The way you say work too, but the skeleton won't move as well and will deform oddly in some places, notably the feet and neck area.
Ah, I see. The praying and cowering idles are the only ones I tested so far and worked very well, but now I can indeed imagine some weird stuff happening when using the NPC skeleton.
I also plan to rig the zombies to npc for a couple of creeps ...
Now that promises interresting stuff!
This open for a lot of possibilities. I have a lot of ideas for thoses. (get ready StarX ).
Ready when you are, mate! :-D-)

Instead of whole new dungeons for your WAC, and possibly getting in the way of other mod's dungeons..WOuldn't it be great to extend the Vanilla dungeons? Just put a door somewhere at the lowest levels of them(with a special WAC key maybe???) and off we go. The forts are often not very many levels..usually only one or two...With WAC's dungeon extension, we could extend them much further, with a dark Knight Skeleton Lord waiting at the end! (I actually like the forts myself, but my tastes are odder than what most others prefer)

es would be great, connected to the bigger vanilla rocks already down there, that way you don't run the risk of getting in the way of other's mods(I still don't know where ALL the sunken ships are from that mod). If possible, you could have an occasional Moray Eel lunge out of the cave entrances or something...not sure how that would work with a cave door though. It would work with Immersive Caves(another mod), but that mod is sometimes buggy at the entrances when you're leaving.

I fought the lions today. Changes? Not one single recommendation from me. They were right on.

As to the zombies, Duke Patrick( I think he's Spookyfix or something) just did a mod that adds flies to zombies. The only problem with this so far that I've seen is when using life detect they appear as little purple squares all over the place. Maybe you can add flies to yours too.
The extension of existing dungeons is actually underway at the moment. StarX is on this since a while, and it was my idea to use existing stuff instead of completely new dungeons. The goblins camps will all have vast underground caves that connect to nearby stuff. That's the first step. It's rather long to do, but the first one is awesome! I got that first StartX dungeon last week and let me tell you that when I finished his part and entered the real vanilla place it was a let down in comparison. Using the resources from the master file of WAC does help to decorate stuff a bit more than it was.. apart from adding critters.

Most Dead Knight Lords and Sirs will indeed be found only deep in their own fort. That also tie with the idea that the Marauders like to wear Dead Knight armors, and why some are based on top of a fort. Other lords will come out to go to war as well and things like that.

And then you'll have the vagabonds Dead Knights, That ride the country looking for sport, or trying to reconquer their fort lost to another lord, or to Marauders or goblins.

You walk around and a Dead Knight come to you and ask you to help him empty a dungeon (his fort) of goblins with him. Or he just sit there, and ask you for the head of his enemy.

Things like that. The knights will probably be a big part of WAC. This can bring a lot of cool quests as well.

with the AI overload that is already plaguing this game, I don't want this. Easy to do, same way I did the fire on the djiin.

hey you have things ter do..already ! :P

Let me think of the knights and their concept a bit more and then we'll start something out. Beside, you have an undead place started already right? Just let me think it over and how to do it the best way. I want them personalized, at least the lords, and that will need a lot of work to pull off in itself.

The zombie NPC I talked of earlier was about that first and foremost, for the knights, their servants, wifes, and kids. Some Knights will be all skeletal, some others will be zombie-like.
And, Yeah I will do kids zombie. I figure that's going to be less hard for people who don't wanna kill kids in a game. Although WAC is pretty much a mature rated version of Oblivion. hehe I need to place a stamp on the pub when I release it!

So an new blade here me lads! Arnd one that we did meself! Not frem another metal worker that one, no. Thast wos an long time ego, when I wos an young mer still, if ye can belive that we was once an young one. We have that story Wood? Where was ist now then?..ar. We'll take an time arnd wrote it down fer ye...Ye just wait an year er two we need an rest now..and then.

Shiny sword! :-)

Anyway, zombie kids scare me even more than adult zombies! That little girl from Dawn of the Dead was creepy as hell!

Zombiekids? That sounds suspiciously like a Saturday Morning cartoon.(IF so, they'd probably have a cartoon zombie dog, lol)
They are foul,
They really smell.
Because their innards
have roasted in hell.
They truly smell
like decomposed squids
They are the zombie kiiiiidddss!

I've never seen it, but has anyone ever added some old tattered armor to zombies? That thought just struck me. Maybe give them someone's arm to wield as a club? Perhaps the female zombies, with armor, can be called "Ankou" to sound like a whole new creature. Ankou is female undead in Celtic lore. In Breton lore, Ankou is the personification of death. Another meaning of Ankou, which is nauseating when you compare it to undead creatures with the same name is a red bean paste in Japan.

What would be really gross is if when you loot the armor off of them...skin and body parts come with it...damn, I'm in a morbid mood today.

Sorry I haven't been able to report much lately. I've had the flu and me and my wife of 11 years are divorcing. Don't worry or sympathize as we're remaining friends so it's really not that tragic. I just had to mention it to explain why I haven't reported much.

ARRGH Mate ! More people to bash for da orky boyz !

Seriously , death knights as ally to clear dungeons of those ****** gobs will be bad-ass. Seriously . I've always had a hate for gobs ... And quests built around the great forts will be awesome. Altough not all of them can be occupied by lords of war , or marauders ... I think that those near the borders and those near the road should be old imperial bastions , as the lore [Insert citation here] told, at least from what i remember ... Some of them, in an utopian world, should be restored to imperial legion in strategic places... because, i mean, having an undead-filled dungeon at 6 feet of the road is kinda out of place , IMO (some of them are, don't remember any names though) Bandits or marauders near the road is ok to my standard, but still some should be under imperial control, someday. Oh , the sword is awesomeness as you are doin' pretty much everyday, IMO . Now the bad-ass squirrel gotta leave ... Good job as always ! 8-)

The master of the sword design strikes again. Good thing most players in Oblivion aren't the prudish sort or they'd make you rename it "fatherless" sword, rofl.(Yes, I know the history of bastard swords, aka hand and a half swords, many think the name came from William the Conqueror, aka William the Bastard)

Is it possible, since it IS hand and a half type, to make it where if your strength is below a certain number, you have to wield them two handed and if above that strength you can wield it one handed?

That's certainly possible but bastardswords can totally be used with one hand. It's not easy but possible. So not sure you should force a limit on the player :P

other than that no errors to report, been trying to find that big ass dino I've heard tell of, can't seem to track it down... need to hunt something bigger than me.
It's a pally thing, you wouldn't understand.

Excellent! The only qualm I would have with these bastards is that the crossguard is more curved like a single-handed sword, usually any large two-handed/bastards have a straight crossguard, and I think these would look even better with a straight one.

I don't know about real life, but in most fantasy games I've ever played, mostly D&D related, a bastard sword is always a one handed sword, a powerful and exotic one handed sword, but one handed non the less.

It's also called a hand-and-a-half, so it could be either. Anyway in icewind dale you need to have a bastard sword proficiency to be able to use it single-handed, otherwise you must use it two-handed.

I believe that it's actually named "Bastard" Sword because it can be wielded with one or two hands. It is a real bastard so to speak.

I was finally able to find some time to do a fresh reinstall of Oblivion and WAC. First time out, right around Leyawiin, I was attacked by two crocodiles and a couple of white lionesses. Holy crap--the crocs scared the hell out of me, they came out of nowhere!

So, I was happily going to enter Fort Nikel with a new char when a blue rat attacks me. OK. I kill it. Then I see it's name and start to cry. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? NO! SONIC WHY DID I KILL YOU!? I truly hope there's a plege of those xD
Some observations, tought:
-It's a bit macabre having all that ppl hanging on your way... one or two is even tastefull, but 20 from the swers to Weye is too much.
-Mithic critters' spawns are too random. I've seen appear hill giants (lovely guys there :) ) in front of cans (imperial
patrols), and some other strong critters right in the middle of the cities (the went there, didn't spawn inside. yet, I have OBC+LR...)).
-Some balancing would be suittable. y'know, I can kill gob's in one hit, but marauders take me docens (lvl 5 ones)
And finally, Will you add some SI? it would ROCK to see your hand on the heretics and the gnarls.
