Concerning ravens: Maigrets, have you ever read the children's book "Krabat" (English title: The Satanic Mill) from Otfried Preussler. If not, do it, it's fantastic, I believe, you would like it.

With this Wrye Bash tweak to make every armor wearable my char could loot the Dead Knights excessivly. :shock:

But it seems that with the tweak he is also able to take away an evil curse form this poor dremora guy: :)

No, I haven't heard of that particular book, but I will check into it. A children's book called The Satanic Mill.. :shock: Interesting, depending on the age of course. :)

:grin: Yes, I knew about that with the Alpha of WAC, but until your screen shot I forgot all about it. You look a bit shocked. lol

It's a pity NPC's don't react to the armour or clothes you wear, although I never looked to see if that actual armour had a faction attached. I know one mod I played a little while ago, Ardah: A Desert Dream, has an amulet in a quest, and when worn all undead would leave you alone. I thought this armour had something similar, but I might be thinking of something else.

I try it again:
This dremora guy was cursed to ran around as a skeletonized Dead Knight forever or until someone would kill him. Killed by my character, he got his original dremora body back, but now my char is cursed to be a Dead Knight until another NPC will murder him. Which should not last long, he is at level 3.
But okay, the story of Krabat is better... ;)

In theory, the Dead Knight would have had a quest that would permit you to become one of the undead. At the very end one of the Lords would have invited you to die, and be resurrected as one of them. I still have the synopsis for that quest somewhere, but never got to do it (like for many things in WAC...). Back then when I thought about it I didn't know how to implement the quest by myself, and now, ......I don't have the time. :-o

**Actually, never mind my question. I did some more browsing and found the answer in the "frequently asked questions" part.

Hi. I just have a question about this mod's compatibility with MMM. I already have MMM installed and have put a good number of hours into several saves with MMM and OOO running. I know that the author mentioned that the "WAC creatures won't go into the MMM" creatures, but that's what's confusing me. So does that mean MMM and WAC are not compatible?

I'm sorry if someone asked this question already, but I browsed through the forum a bit and did not see any topic with MMM on it... although I did see a compatibility patch for OOO. It would be a shame if this mod is not compatible with MMM because this mod looks amazing with all the new gear and monsters it adds. I don't want to lose out on fighting against MMM creatures too because that mod also adds a bunch of cool monsters to fight.

I love this mod, adds alot of good atmosphere.

Only thing I would suggest is a compatablity patch for elaborate eyes? Had to disable my mega hair/eye pack because it gave all the bearded people googly eyes.

Wyre Bash - Race Records function in the Bashed Patch can help with that if you're using one.

Otherwise, you can use the CS to assign EE meshes to all races yourself if you want, which is a better method. Then you won't get googly eyes at all unless you use another mod with different eye meshes. I prefer Elaborate Eyes (and Ren's) myself, but I've only changed my and other custom races that I use as I don't really bother or care much about vanilla NPC's and how they look. I tend to ignore them. lol

There are other people more into the cosmetic side of things than I am who may probably give other advice.

Hey, trying to make a bashed patch but it always fails at the end when i load WAC, this is what it tells me. Its something to do with a missing eye mesh reference for the vampire race in the main esm file i think?

Only mod i use that alters vampires is Vampire Deaths enhanced by StarX?

Have to say, I can not get over the sheer quality of the work put into this mod! I could not top bolting from creature to critter for hours last night! Every turn it was like 'OMG what the frig is that!'

It totally changes the feel of the game, atmospherically for me now its alot more mature and realistic! I can not get enough of it so well done it truly is a fantastic achievement, be proud, be very very proud :D

InnerOutN,

A quick fix in TES4Edit will solve that for you.
1) Download and open TES4Edit.exe
2) In the menu that has popped up, titled Master/Plugin Selection, right click on any esp/esm and select "Select None"
3) Select all of the WAC esps and the esm, including the ones you dont need, click ok, and let the processing finish.
4) click the little + to the left of the Waalx Animals and Creatures.esm, then click the + next to the "eyes" subfolder
5) find the editorID for the value "eyeVampireYellowWAC" and right click it, then click change "FormID"
6) change the ID in this little pop-up to "0003B379" minus the quotes, click OK.
7) Select all the records that pop up in the next menu (I had 3), click OK.
8) Click ok again, this is just telling you the updating was successful.
9) Close TES4Edit with the X in the corner, click ok the save the changes.
10) Have fun running your patch =P
Thanks goes to the original poster of the above text which I can't find at the moment. I did copy and paste the info for my own use though so I can add it here.

You may also need the temporary Gnolls fix so you don't get a CTD near their camps. It's back on page 131 where I added a link to it at my Mediafire account. Just replace your esm and esps of choice if you're not using all of them.

BTW @ everyone....that fix has been downloaded 55 times now since I uploaded it. :)

Thank you for the speedy reply, just did as requested and added the temp fix for the Gnolls also. Will be off to adventure again I think's :D

That is, if I can pry myself away from the gladiators in the arena for long enough! Thats how a real arena should be!

Hello again, was wondering if there's any particular load order of the wac esp's that should be used? I use Boss but make manual changes here an there from time to time, i want to get the best Wac experience (ie not miss a thing) so don't want any other installed mod's altering it's changes in any way. For some reason Boss throws Crowded Roads Rev way up above the wac.esp? Leave it there perhaps or tell it get the hell down that load order :)

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, and again if any/all other mods need to be removed for it to work fully as intended that so be it :)

Are you having any problems with that load order, because if not I would leave it as is and not tempt fate. :grin:

BOSS puts the WAC Crowded Roads up there for me as well, but it works as intended and I see plenty of travelers on foot and horseback, wearing gear and using weapons from WAC They can even be a decent bit of help in a fight. :ninja:

You have a lot of mods I don't use (primarily because of lack of system resources), but a lot I do have, and the order BOSS puts them in seems to work fine. Everything shows up as it should in leveled lists etc, and the esps are listed the same as yours, obviously, lol since I use BOSS as well.

Random ctd's are the main of my concerns :) Almost every 5 - 10 minutes it might just decide, ooh no wait no I'm not going to run and crash! :D I literally just had the uop's and Wac at the start, then added a heap of texture replacers (some non esp's but some as you see require them). That then became other more varied mods and then slowly but surely it started going crashy on me :( not good!

If i just leave in the wac files, patch files and the better cities files it runs stable for what seems like an eternity. easily a good hour plus so I my just have to start removing some.

Well if Boss arranges it the same for everybody then it must be working semi-good :) The travellers show up no probs for me and the gear is always choc full of wac goodness and the critter's they are a plentyful :P frickn gargoyles keep getting me though with the damm paralyze!

I feel your pain. :-( I've had to cut my mod list drastically even with Bash merging many of them because my game is protesting badly. Sometimes it CTD's on loading a new area and very often if I fast travel. I don't know why because I used to run FCOM and a lot of other heavily scripted mods, plus Qarl's etc, etc with the highest graphic options, and this never happened and it's really ticking me off.

Unfortunately, there are many mods besides WAC I can't play without, including texture replacers, so it's coming down to having to choose what I really want and forget the rest. I have different profiles for my characters and they all have different mod setups besides the main ones like WAC, COBL, All Natural and a lot of others, so it adds to the esps and BSA file limit in the data folder. I think this is what's causing my problems more than anything. Oblivion is choking on data... :grin:

Even OBMM hates my long list. :grin: It takes so long to close I often think it's locked up, unless I cut down on mod numbers and then it responds a little better.

I often feel like I'm tweaking this game more than playing it. :)

Ahh no way I know exactly what you mean :D i've had to do about 5 fresh re-installs at this stage now (thank god for steam....sometimes lol) due to rushed mod attempts :) I think that may be my problem then, too many bsa archives and esp's are choking every last little bit of life outta oblivion. Had to remove alot last night I just could not sit there and every second or third loading screen ctd, grr! And thank god i like the horses and zebra's as fast traveling was totally not an option lol :D

The longest I've sat in a single sitting and played Oblivion in ages was when I first loaded up Wac, and that was down to sheer child like excitement! I hunted so many little critters that day I almost felt bad...almost :D

Well, how else is a modern day Gladiator supposed to train :P

What kind of graphics card are you running? if it isnt beastly running out of VRAM will make you CTD quickly. . . If your rig is a beast search for how to clean mods, alot of mods have extra information that gums up the works and needs to be removed, compound that by alot of mods and you have problems.

I've got an EN9500GT Nvidia 512Vram, but in my case it's been laziness the last couple of months. Trying out new mods and not removing the ones I don't want and also not keeping my data folder streamlined. I run Fallout New Vegas with a number of intense mods on high settings and it NEVER crashes, so I've just got to get my act together and fix my Oblivion game.

Usually, I don't have these problems and I do all my own troubleshooting. I just don't feel like reinstalling it again just now, but it would probably be better if I did. It's a day and a half job (slight exaggeration lol) by the the time I get it all back to how I want it.

There was a thread on the Beth forums some time ago about how the game chokes when there are more than around 400 (approx) esps, esms, and BSA's collectively in the data folder and the game reads them all whether they are active or not. It's mentioned in the Wrye Bash readme as well.

I don't have quite that many but it's getting close. This is my problem, so I have to make some savage cuts. :-( I have removed a lot of small mods and it does run better, so I see the reasoning in that scenario.

More mods are coming out now in BSA form so it adds to the numbers of data files as well. I have considered unpacking all the mod BSA's because a lot of them are just an outfit or a couple of weapons, and I actually prefer to install all my files manually unless there are tons of folders and files, then I make omods.

Haha, it's actually now more than 65 downloads so WAC is getting out there.

I can't really answer that question about the armour except if you use HGEC there is a conversion of all the armours and clothing including the Roman style. It's on Tesnexus.

Otherwise if you use a different female body replacer like Robert's, as far as I know there's no female conversion as yet. I use HGEC so it's great for me. :-)
