All my time playing Oblivion I never dared to start the arena quests because all the fun would stop after the matches.
The only reward being an armour, but now.. It seems that we get great matches.

I wonder though, how would you become a slave?
And what about the Grey Prince?
How would a match look like? Would one only use blades, or also nets, spears and axes?
Would you be allowed to use magic?

I really can't wait till the Arena gets released. :-D-)
I've shown the Arena Weapons or most of them already. Blades, spear, trident, axes, mace, hammer, bow and arrows. Every types of weapons in the Arena is there. you can't use them all from the start though, they unlock as you gain rank. (unless you steal them, But Flavius is always checking on his wares).
You don't need to pay to use Arena weapons, they are offered to you by the house, as long as you have the required rank.

As for becoming a slave...easy to do. I will have Owyn lock the door leading out as soon as you click 'I want to be a combatant'. At that point, All your weapons and armors are taken from you (a bit like when you are sent to jail). You are stuck in the Arena until Champion, unless you find an illegal way out. And where you gears have been taken in storage.

The way out will not be easy to find, but there will be one. That is to cover both the fact some people will want out sooner, and also if you want to make the Grey Prince quest.

Grey prince is now a bit taller to say the least. If you fight him, you will have more trouble than before.

How a match look like is related to what the spawns list will decide to throw at you. The main foe is of course the combatant of the yellow team. Then around can come many types of gladiators, beasts, and condemned prisoners, those are weaker than arena combatants, yet their number is their strength (minor the fact that they hate each other).
Winning a match mean you have dispatched the yellow team combatant, however if something else is still in the arena, you may not escape to win your gold.
How a match look like is also very different when you bet on a combatant, much more action going on.

The use of magic is at the discretion of the player, although the Kladios Codex state plainly that an honorable gladiator will use magic only for restoration, as to ensure a longer show for the public.

The new arena sounds (and probably looks) awesome.

Back to the beard of the Emperor: when I first meet him, it's brown then after the tutorial dungeon, when I catch up with the group (when you chose your birthsign) his beard is grey as it should :o :o
I started 3 different characters, with and without a bashed patch (as I thought it could be the problem) and I managed to reproduce this bug everytime.

I may have something wrong in my game, but the hair selection is all screwed up. I tried deactivating the body mod I use but it didn't change a thing.

Anyone else has this problem?

I don't know if this is from WAC, but otherwise I have no explanation... the Arena Heavy Rainment doesn't count as arena gear, and I can't start a match, and if I switch to it while in a match, I get disqualified.
It's a pally thing, you wouldn't understand.

don't go in the Arena...what the hell are you doing?? :P I'm revamping the Arena right now. WAIT!

Beside that, I checked WAC and no, I haven't modified the arena rainment in the modules of WAC.

RS Gladiator is coming...forget the arena for a while, that's not about WAC at the moment.

I did the tutorial tonight and met the emperor and he had a white beard the two times. It's on your side I think.

About the summon djiin spell, how did you made it? Because it overwrites summon imp to me. I'll check it out later in TES4Edit.
the djinn are taking the only free summon slot in Oblivion programming. Any other mod that modify this free slot will conflict.

For the djiin's to appear as I want, it's the only option I have. Making a custom summon doesn't work with leveled list, and the Djiin need their list to work.

It could work with scripting..I guess. But it would need something custom that I can't do.

I had the problem of not being able to select hair and eyes on my custom race initially, but when I disabled my own compilation for "vanilla" races it worked fine. As Waalx says, he hasn't finished with the races.
I didn't have the problem with the Emperor's beard though. It was the same, grey all the way through the tutorial.

Body mods shouldn't make any difference. I use HGEC and the EVE Project and there's no problem at all with it.

I'm not using a Bashed Patch for WAC testing either, because any mods I have that use leveled lists, OOO, MMM etc are disabled for this character. It could be the Bash Patch that's causing your problem though, because of how it merges races and cosmetic mods.

Waalx, I have a custom summon script that I found on the CS Wiki and I use it for my summoned creatures. I'll check it out and see if it will work for leveled summons. It takes a little while to set up and it can work to summon multiples of the same creature at once if required.

There already is an esp in v0.05 (WAC - PlayerSummons.esp) that is based on that tutorial. StarX made it. And at the time I asked about if it would work with leveled creatures and apparently it wont.

This tutorial method need a permanent reference to work. A leveled list cant contain permanent reference(s).

:) OK, no problem. That saves me trying to see if it will work. 8-)

I have tried a few stuff with my frail understanding of scripting, however when it start to get too complex, I panic.

The underlying method of the tutorial you refer to use a 'place at me' command I think. This need to have a persistent reference of the actor somewhere.

For the Djiins to get their own custom script it would need to make two check.

Check the player level. And choose a random selection in 5 choices depending on the player level. 5 djiins types each 6 levels.

maximum is level 30 where only two can appear.

If/when the script is made, the summon slot will be free. ( to be filled, again)

I can't script this kind of thing meself...

That sounds awesome (I mean the Arena description)

But I am like St Thomas: I only believe what I see :P

More seriously...we're all eager to test/see/play with this?

BtW will RealSword Dunmer be ready before RealSword Gladiator?

it sounds possible maybe you could ask bg2408 he added druid/animal summons with lame maybe he ran into the same issue.
also the emperor is fine on mine aswell

also another possible glitch (maybe something from UV tho) when I shoot the imperial arrows (the ones in the chest)they stay in my inventory and i can go gather the ones i shot thus accumulating more arrows....

FInally managed to download this beast of a mod, and am rearing to get testing. Gonna keep an in-game diary of what I see & take screenshots of course.

I was just wondering tho, has there been a concensus made of what Bash Tags the various plugins might need to allow them to play nice with other mods? Also, any recommended load order?

Can't wait to get stuck in :)

I use a bash patch for tweaks only, like the camera, to modify the "unconsciousness" of essential NPC and the like. I've not loaded any other overhaul. I'll try a new game with only WAC, maybe the Emperor's beard will look OK this time.

I hope this is the correct place to say this, but Waalx, this mod is awesome. I've actually been close to dying on several occasions simply staring at some of your monsters while they've been helping themselves to my character as if he is a some sort of buffet with legs. Well done.

I may post a few screens in a while..

As for RS Dunmer. It will be after RS Gladiator. I know I said RS Dunmer would be next, but the Arena is too fun now.
And also..don't forget that the more time I wait to make a race, the better it may be in the end as it will benefit from the wait.

I will check that..

Otherwise for the arrows. it may be the same bug that goes with some other quivers types..I need to check them all.

Orc, Khajiit, Argonian, Resguard, Breton, Bosmer, are kind of old. I didn't go back to them yet. It's normal that in Orc blades there are glitches as it was one of the first RS to come out, and I didn't quite knew what I was doing back then....

I have a plan to review everything RealSwords at some point (well everything that is old).

Thanks for the reports boys and girls... keep 'em coming!

Yes this is indeed the right place!

thanks.

And me too I had lost many legs while big cats and others try to eat me, when I test 'em.. :)

I think that it would be wise to ask bg2408 about the spells, ha has done bunch of work with the spells and magic system and he's quite friendly and helpful.

Some pics:
This one looks like it's been packed in the box and has a very funny expression! :D

The 'pose' was gone after I grabbed it. And it seems that his 'stuff' is wrong.

Pack of terror birds and some wolves, nothing to report I guess, they are just cool looking. They didn't attack.

I don't think that those tattoos look really that good. Especially the bottom one blends in weirdly with the skin. Though I admit I haven't seen more then a dozen tattoos up close :P
