I've shown the Arena Weapons or most of them already. Blades, spear, trident, axes, mace, hammer, bow and arrows. Every types of weapons in the Arena is there. you can't use them all from the start though, they unlock as you gain rank. (unless you steal them, But Flavius is always checking on his wares).Sethsryt wrote:That sound great, seems that finally we get a real arena in the Imperial city.
All my time playing Oblivion I never dared to start the arena quests because all the fun would stop after the matches.
The only reward being an armour, but now.. It seems that we get great matches.
I wonder though, how would you become a slave?
And what about the Grey Prince?
How would a match look like? Would one only use blades, or also nets, spears and axes?
Would you be allowed to use magic?
I really can't wait till the Arena gets released.
You don't need to pay to use Arena weapons, they are offered to you by the house, as long as you have the required rank.
As for becoming a slave...easy to do. I will have Owyn lock the door leading out as soon as you click 'I want to be a combatant'. At that point, All your weapons and armors are taken from you (a bit like when you are sent to jail). You are stuck in the Arena until Champion, unless you find an illegal way out. And where you gears have been taken in storage.
The way out will not be easy to find, but there will be one. That is to cover both the fact some people will want out sooner, and also if you want to make the Grey Prince quest.
Grey prince is now a bit taller to say the least. If you fight him, you will have more trouble than before.
How a match look like is related to what the spawns list will decide to throw at you. The main foe is of course the combatant of the yellow team. Then around can come many types of gladiators, beasts, and condemned prisoners, those are weaker than arena combatants, yet their number is their strength (minor the fact that they hate each other).
Winning a match mean you have dispatched the yellow team combatant, however if something else is still in the arena, you may not escape to win your gold.
How a match look like is also very different when you bet on a combatant, much more action going on.
The use of magic is at the discretion of the player, although the Kladios Codex state plainly that an honorable gladiator will use magic only for restoration, as to ensure a longer show for the public.
